Look, I love a tatted up, bossy, alpha hero as much as the next SUV driving suburban mom, but 2020 has been rough and sometimes you just need a sweet angel cinnamon roll hero to spark joy and give you something to believe in! Here’s a list of some well known nice guys and also some you might-but definitely should not be-sleeping on.

1. Knox Gentry from The Locker Room by Meghan Quinn

I know “good ol’ boy” tends to have a negative connotation these days, but not in the case of Knox Gentry. He’s a bit of a player with a heart of gold. He knows what he wants and he’s prepared to get friend zoned and play the long game. He’s hilarious and charming and so sweet I could die!

2. Red from Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

Oh, Redmon, how I love you so. Terse at times, sure. But gentle and kind at his core. Chloe is kind of a lot and Red is the perfect patient and understanding balance to her adorably extra energy. He also sees a therapist because his mum tells him too and we all stan a hero who listens to his mum.

3. Ansel from Sweet Filthy Boy by Christina Lauren

He’s hot, French, a freak in the sheets, and a gentleman when it counts. Ansel’s clearly got a lot going for him and when he has a hot fling in Vegas with the quiet and shy girl of his dreams, he refuses to let her slip away and invites her to return to France with him for the summer. His job is stressful and he’s not always as emotionally available as Mia would like, but he more than makes up for it in and out of the bedroom.

4. Ren from Always Only You by Chloe Liese

A Shakespeare loving hockey player who is a feminist and cooks? Is this real life? Where do I sign up? It’s hard to come by a man who is attentive without being smothering, but Ren pulls it off. He’s honestly one of the yummiest heroes I’ve read in awhile and I can’t recommend this book enough!

5. James Alexander Malcom MacKenzie Fraser from the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon

No cinnamon roll hero list is complete without the GOAT himself, Jamie Fraser. The fact that Sam Heughan flawlessly captures Jamie’s pure angel essence and looks like that without a shirt is almost too much for me to handle.

6. Micahel Phan from The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

How many times do you think you sighed longingly while reading how adorably sweet and patient Michael is with Stella in this gem by Helen Hoang? For me, the limit does not exist. He is actual perfection!

7. Josh from The Catch by Lauren H. Mae

If the adorable cover didn’t convince you to read this one, then do it for Josh because he’s honestly almost too good to be true. Sexy, assertive, kind, and such a gentleman. What more could a gal want or need?

8. Ryan “King” Kingston from A Secret for a Secret by Helena Hunting

A king, indeed! This gentle giant is quiet, reserved, quirky, and even a bit of a nerd. Sports romances are hot, but when the hero is hard on the outside and soft on the inside and knows how to treat a lady, the steam level automatically gets kicked up a notch!

9. August from Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan

Another gentle giant who is prepared to play the long game, August is basically the man of our dreams. A hot basketball player who is patient, loyal, and protective? Ummm yes, please! This book has a lot of sensitive material and is hard to read at times, but the fact that August is there to save Iris but lets her save herself honestly gives me all the feels.

10. Zaf from Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

Zaf reads romance novels and runs a non-profit program that offers soccer and therapy for young boys and that’s honestly all you need to know.
