If you know me, you know I love all things Supernatural. And not just the TV show by that name. I mean vampires, witches, werewolves, dhampirs, wizards, giants and men who tell the truth. Basically, everything that doesn’t exist? I’m here for it. For this week’s playlist, I’ve rounded up ten of my favorite songs that mention my favorite creatures of the night. Enjoy!

like Derek Hale, you know I’m at my prome when the mon is high! This song is dark, addicting, and gives me all the werewolf feels. There’s just something about the darkness that pulls me in and keeps me right where it wants me. The raspy voals and guitair chords have me listening to this song on repeat again and again, especially when I’m writing bad boy characters like my most recent fictional crush, Caden Khanna. I’m hoping I get to introduce you all to him soon!

As you might imagine, I had a lot of options for songs titled “Ghost” to include on this playlist. This one made the cut for its addicting back beat and synth. Do you guys believe in ghosts? I sure do.

I’m literally wearing a Half the Animal shirt as I write this. That’s how much I love this band! As you might recall from my previous posts, I’ve seen them twice in concert. I feel honored to have heard this song a few times before it was released to the public. And though I’m a firm believer in magic, until I find it, music is the closest thing I’ve been able to find.

Dimitri Belikov. Damon Salvatore. Vladimir Todd. That other guy. Vampires are sexy as HELL, and Bea Miller knows it. This song is an ode to bad boys and full of references to creatures of the night. I agree-give me ALL the tattoos and skinny jeans.

Cover art aside, this song is witchy AF. It tells the story of a chance encounter in a bar that leads to some pretty intense, freaky deja-vu, hinting at past lives and other magic.

Let’s go back to where the magic grew! I’ll admit, Autoheart has a very unique, strange sound that took me a bit to get into, but I listen to their album Punch on repeat all the time. I love every single song on that album, and you will too–give it a try!

When I was in college, I took a course called “Trick or Treat: the History of Halloween.” We did three units: one on the Celtic history of the holiday, one on ghosts and one about zombies. For my final essay, I wrote about why I would rather be a ghost than a zombie. It received an A+ which was nearly unheard of in one of those classes, thank you very much.I think I’d be okay as a ghost in an empty house if there was always good music playing.

Zombies aren’t my favorite creatures, bit that doesn’t mean this song isn’t amazing! I love Dreamers with my whole heart.

Don’t Believe in Ghosts is a great band, and they’re super nice people, too! I had a very hard time choosing a song to include in this week’s playlist, because they all fit! I finally settled on this one for a few reasons, but mostly because of the adorable rollerskating cover art.

Marianas Trench‘s new album Phantoms is all about death and ghosts, and I love it. I saw Marianas Trench in concert in concert once, and it was a great show. There are very few songs by them that I don’t enjoy, an dI encourage you to check them out!
