When most people outside of the book community hear the word “bookstagram” they assume that it’s all overly edited photos of libraries or book stacks made up of john green novels; but those of us on the inside of this ever growing community know that bookstagram is so, so much more. Whether it’s insane book spirals or hygge style flatlays, Instagram has something for everyone, including dog lovers!

While cats have been the unofficial front runner for the face of the internet for quite some time, I am happy to report that dogs seem to be sneaking their way into that position, and bookstagram is here to help! I have found and followed several bookstagram accounts that prominently feature dogs in their photos in hopes of giving new life to my Instagram feed and bookshelf via photos of precious pups and their recommended reads, so if you’re also looking for a way to increase your happiness AND your TBR pile, make sure you follow the lovely pupstagram/bookstagram accounts below!

@chapter_break & Sirius

Arguably the most recognizable pup on bookstagram, Sirius is the dog that started it all. I have been a long time follower of Brie’s Instagram and remember watching her very first Instagram stories of Sirius way back before she even brought him home. I have loved being able to watch him grow up through Instagram and become a rambunctious ball of energy. His personality is unmatched and paired with Brie’s impeccable book taste, this account is a MUST follow.

@grumpyreads & Mini Grumps

If world domination is your thing, then mini grumps is for you! This satirical duo is conquering the world of bookstagram one frown at a time all while still finding the time to share hilariously bad cliché’s from YA books and concocting unforgettable witticism under each seemingly surly photo. I’m not sure how these two maintain such a perfect frown all the time, but I’m willing to learn if it means I get to hang out with mini grumps occasionally! A must follow if you enjoy planning the future demise of planet earth and also reading books sometimes.

@rektokross & Falkor

If I had to describe Liani’s photos with Falkor I would most definitely say “bookstagram, but make it chic” – like seriously, how are they both so beautiful? Liani and Falkor both have gorgeous blonde hair (listen, Falkor has hair, not fur.. have you seen it?!!!) and incredible style. Falkor is the goodest boy with the best accessories and always looks his best in Liani’s bookstagram snaps!! I remember the first time I saw a photo of Falkor on Liani’s feed and was OUTRAGED that I hadn’t known about him sooner!!! I just wanna boop the snoot!!!!!! I’d give these guys a follow if you enjoy reading vogue and looking amazing at *all* times.

@adventuresandpages & Monique

AHHHH Monique is the original love of my life. I have been completely enamored with this pup since before bookstagram was even a thing. I initially started following Carol on tumblr, which was my introduction to the bookish world and quickly fell in love with Carol’s photography. It is safe to say that Monique is the star of every show and is The Official bookstagram model for all your bookish accessories! She is probably the most photogenic pup on the ‘gram and takes better selfies than most humans. She exudes wealth and opulence, but like, in puppy form. She seems like she wouldn’t be caught DEAD eating store bought food. Its hand made only for this little lady. I’d definitely follow Monique if you like drinking out of fancy wine glasses and dining in Michelin rated restaurants!

Now that you have my list of bookstagram pups to follow, make sure to share yours with me! After all, I came to Instagram for the books and I stayed for the pups. xx
