As the reading nerd that I am, I’m also a total geek girl. Cosplay is my life, I adore Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel and Harley Quinn. I totally geek out over Star Wars movies. It’s life.

Starting this week, we will compile three top comic book releases for each month along with a description to get you excited! Even if it’s your first time picking up a comic, or you are a seasoned comic book reader, I will give you some advice as to what you can pick up at your local comic shop!

So just sit back and relax while we chat and check out some comics!

Wonder Woman: Come Back to Me #1  by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti (July 17)

Available to comics shops for the first time, my first pick for this month is a Wonder Woman tale.

When Steve Trevor is called in for a test flight of an experimental new aircraft, he winds up lost in the Bermuda Triangle-and it’s up to Wonder Woman and Etta Candy to follow his trail to a mysterious, savage island. These stories written by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti with art by Chad Hardin were originally published in JUSTICE LEAGUE GIANT #3-4.

This is a perfect pick for those who love a strong female character and want to start with a Wonder Woman story. And who isn’t excited for Wonder Woman 1984, the movie, next year? I totally am, and I am sure you are as well.

Loki #1 by Daniel Kibblesmith (July 17)

Are you a Loki fan? I know I fell in love with him in the Marvel Thor films. Now, you can start a whole new Loki story with this new comic installment.

After dying a grisly death in THE WAR OF THE REALMS, Loki learned a valuable lesson in warmongering: Don’t get caught. But now he has a whole new set of responsibilities – and his brother Thor is not about to let him walk away from them this time. Late Show and BLACK PANTHER VS. DEADPOOL writer Daniel Kibblesmith takes the god of mischief in a thrilling new direction.

Make sure you read on, because Loki is a character that always surprises and never lets us down. Good guy, bad guy…who cares, we love him no matter what, right?

Valkyrie #1 by Jason Aaron and Al Ewing (July 24)

Speaking of so many awesome bad-ass female characters, let’s take a look at this comic book.

Releasing on July 24, a new hero emerges, from the pages of THE WAR OF THE REALMS. For years, you knew her as Dr. Jane Foster, one of Thor’s most loyal companions, then you knew her at Thor, The Goddess of Thunder. Now in this new series, Jane stars as Valkyrie, guide to the dead.

Written by WAR OF THE REALMS writer Jason Aaron and Al Ewing of IMMORTAL HULK, stay tuned for non-stop action and fantastic art by CAFU.
