It’s the first week of June, and summer is starting off with a bang with these new must-read romances!

❤ Indicates the books that I have read and recommend.

The Second Coming by Carrie Aarons (May 30)

Carrie Aarons’ latest sports romance is the perfect blend of humor, heat and heart, and you’ll love its cocky-but-still-a-sweetheart hero, Jude, and the sassy, smart, ball-busting heroine, Aria. Jude is a famous football (or soccer to my fellow Americans) player on the brink of mega-success, but his reckless ways and superstar arrogance threaten to destroy his years of hard work. He’s sent back down to the football academy and meets Aria, an employee there, and for the first time in his life, he’s willing to chase after a girl to gain her attention. Their blazing-hot chemistry, rapid-fire banter and flirtatious arguments make for a captivating courtship, and their fall into love is downright swoon-worthy. There are also heartrending emotional moments along the way that ensure you feel everything, and you’ll walk away from The Second Coming thoroughly entertained and deeply satisfied.

The Truth about Heartbreak by B. Celeste (June 1)

This is my first time reading B. Celeste, but it is definitely not my last! I couldn’t put The Truth about Heartbreak down and stayed up late into the night and read it in one sitting. It’s a beautiful, affecting, angst-filled and unforgettable tale of true love that will squeeze your heart to near bursting. After a traumatic childhood and years in foster care, River is adopted into a loving family and soon falls head-over-heels for her brother’s best friend, Everett. He’s sexy, kindhearted and adores River but only sees her as a friend. When he finds himself in a long-term toxic relationship, any hopes River may have held are dashed, but her feelings never wane. When Everett does finally see her in a romantic light, the timing is far from ideal, and his choices and misplaced loyalty threaten their chance for a happily ever after. You cannot help but be swept away by their heartrending, breathtaking journey, and you’ll be thinking about these characters and this story long after finishing it.

Arctic Wild by Annabeth Albert (June 3)

(Blurb)

Hotshot attorney Reuben Graham has finally agreed to take a vacation, when his plane suddenly plunges into the Alaskan wilderness.

Just his luck.

But his frustrations have only begun as he finds himself stranded with the injured, and superhot, pilot, a man who’s endearingly sociable—and much too young for Reuben to be wanting him this badly.

As the sole provider for his sisters and ailing father, Tobias Kooly is devastated to learn his injuries will prevent him from working or even making it back home. So when Reuben insists on giving him a place to recover, not even Toby’s pride can make him refuse. He’s never been tempted by a silver fox before, but something about Reuben is impossible to resist.

Recuperating in Reuben’s care is the last thing Toby expected, yet the closer they become, the more incredibly right it feels, prompting workaholic Reuben to question the life he’s been living. But when the pressure Toby’s under starts closing in, both men will have to decide if there’s room in their hearts for a love they never saw coming.

Slay (Slay Quartet #1) by Laurelin Paige (June 4). Not a standalone.

(Blurb)

Edward Fasbender is a devil.

He’s my father’s business rival, a powerful, vicious man who takes what he wants and bows to no one. I only took the meeting because I was curious. I thought he was going to offer me a job.

But that’s not what he’s after at all. His proposal is much more intriguing, and I see an opportunity. An opportunity to turn the tables and bring down the devil.

I’ve gotten in trouble playing these games before. I know when the risk is too great, when the stakes are too high. I know how to be cold and strong-willed and destructive. I know how to withstand dominant men with arrogant charm and rugged features.

Yet I can’t resist taking on Edward.

And I can’t resist the pull he has on me.

Soon I’m not so sure which side of the battle I’m standing on–if I’m the warrior meant to slay,

Or the one who will be slain.

Hooked by Joanne Schwehm (June 4)

(Blurb)

I love my life. As owner and chef at one of the hottest restaurants, I know how to keep things sizzling in and out of the kitchen. What more could I ask for? But I’ll tell you what I didn’t ask for… a klutzy, curly-haired woman slamming into me with a unicorn cake. Yes, you read that right—a damn cake decorated to look like the mythical creature bathed in every color of the rainbow.

What could be worse, right? I’ll tell you. My brother hired her to be my pastry chef. You’d think that would be my biggest problem, but that was just the tip of the iceberg.

Aside from her being one of the clumsiest women I’ve ever met, she turns me on like no other woman has. She tastes sweeter than anything she creates, and we make a great team in and out of the bedroom… I mean kitchen.

When we first met, I worried my restaurant wouldn’t survive her. Now I worry that my heart won’t.

I never wanted to fall in love, but sometimes life isn’t all unicorns and rainbows.

This Is Crazy by Natasha Madison (June 4)

Natasha’s Madison returns to the ice with her latest hockey romance, This Is Crazy, and this uber-sexy, highly entertaining and sigh-worthy love story hits all the right spots. Zara and Evan begin their relationship when she asks him out over Twitter in order to make her ex-boyfriend jealous. Evan is a charming alpha-hero with a heart of gold, and he realizes quickly that the prickly, sassy and smart Zara is his perfect match. He pursues her with the singlemindedness of a professional athlete, and they are absolutely adorable together. This Is Crazy has steamy love scenes, delicious banter, endearing secondary characters and a Stanley-Cup-worthy romance.

The Two Week Arrangement (Penthouse Affair #1) by Kendall Ryan (June 4). Not a standalone.

Dear Sexy AF Intern,

I know you don’t particularly care that I’m the CEO of this company, and you’re just an intern. I also know you’re not impressed by my power or my wealth, and that’s fine.

You think you’ve got me all figured out from working alongside me for two weeks, but you don’t know me. Not really.

You don’t know that I’m a single dad to twin toddlers, or that those two little girls matter more to me than this entire hotel chain.

I’m not interested in starting something deep and meaningful, but what I am interested in is the way your body reacts to mine when we’re in the same room. You probably assume the concentration on my face is work-related, when in reality, I’m figuring out which I want more–to nail you against the wall, or to bend you over my desk.

While you’re too disciplined to act
on it, I’m not. And the night you stepped into my limo, all bets were off.

A Single Touch (Irresistible Attraction #3) by W. Winters (June 4). Not a standalone.

A Single Touch is the third book in W. Winters’ enthralling trilogy – Irresistible Attraction. I wanted to binge-read all three books at once and am reading the first book, A Single Glance, and I had a hard time putting it down in order to write this post. I’m including the blurb for A Single Touch since I am knee-deep in this gripping, suspenseful and sexy romance and can’t say more right now.

Sometimes you meet someone, maybe meet isn’t the right word. You don’t even have say hello for this to happen. You simply pass by them and everything in your world changes forever. Chills flow all the way from the crook in your neck where you imagine he’d kiss you, all the way down, with only a single glance.
I know you know what I’m referring to. The moment when something inside of you ignites to life, recognizing their other half that’s been gone for far too long.
It burns hot, destroying any hope that it’s only a coincidence, and that life will go back to what it was. These moments are never forgotten.
That’s only with a single glance.
I can tell you what a single touch will do. It will destroy you and everything you thought you knew.
I felt all of this with Jase Cross, every flick of the flames that roared inside of me.
I knew he’d be my downfall, and I was determined to be his just the same.

#1 Love by T. Gephart (June 6)

I love all of the books in T. Gephart’s romantic comedy #1 series, so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the sixth, stand-alone installment, #1 Love, and it’s just as sexy, romantic and downright hilarious as the previous ones. Maya and Alex were childhood best friends, and they are reunited as adults when both are embarking on careers as attorneys. Neither expects the smoking-hot chemistry that sizzles between them, but neither can deny their friendship just got a lot hotter. As they reestablish their relationship and emotional connection, their physical relationship heats up, and this lighthearted, feel-good friends-to-lovers romance will have you smiling, laughing, sighing and blushing. Don’t miss #1 Love or this must-read series.

Finding Her Chance by Brittney Sahin (June 6)

(Blurb)

A drunken night in Vegas led to an accidental marriage . . . and a vow he’d die to honor.

An elite Navy SEAL and one of the world’s best snipers, Liam Evans lives and breathes his missions. It’s a simple–if not solitary–way to live, but it keeps his heart safe and his head in the game. But one night in Vegas with his beautiful friend destroys his one rule, leaving him at risk of falling for his own wife.

But when she and Liam meet to sign their it-never-happened annulment papers, the night turns deadly when an assassin takes aim at Emily.

Liam and Emily soon discover the hit is related to both of their jobs and an op involving an eight-year-old super genius with a ten-million-dollar bounty on her head.

Caught between searching for answers and growing threats while trying to keep a young girl safe–Liam and Emily must also face their mounting desire for each other, as well as confront past pains.

Fate may have tied them all together, but if they want a chance at a future, they’re going to have to fight for it.

Pretty Scars by C.D. Reiss (June 6)

C.D. Reiss is a hypnotic storyteller and evocative writer, and her twisty, emotional romances never fail to mesmerize me and, frankly, blow my mind. Pretty Scars is a second-chance romance that has everything – intrigue, angst, passion, suspense and breathtaking romance – and it’s absolutely unforgettable. Written with a timeline that alternates between present day and two years prior, it’s a tale of star-crossed lovers, who find their relationship and even their lives at the mercy of dangerous and powerful individuals. But true love never burned so bright, as these two lovers fight their way back to one another, and they will have you believing in the beauty and power of soulmates and hard-fought happily ever afters. You’ll love every page of this gripping, sensual and darkly romantic masterpiece.

Coldhearted Boss by R.S. Grey (June 6)

R.S. Grey is one of my absolute favorite authors of romantic comedy, and Coldhearted Boss is another hilarious, sexy and feel-good romance with endearing characters, topnotch banter and a swoon-worthy, laugh-out-loud story. Ethan and Taylor have a steamy interlude that goes wrong and leaves Ethan seething, but neither expects to see each other again after that memorable night. When they do next meet, it’s when Taylor applies to work at Ethan’s company, and he’s determined to use this opportunity to exact revenge. But Taylor is no wilting flower, and she goes toe-to-toe with her grumpy, hot boss, who soon discovers that he’s attracted to Taylor’s tenacity, beauty and feistiness. You can’t help but grin as these two charming equals bicker their way to love, and this lighthearted, witty and thoroughly entertaining romance is the ultimate feel-good read. There’s nothing not to love about Coldhearted Boss.
