Here are a few contemporary romances recently released this month that I think you need to pick up!

Not According to Plan by AM Madden

For one night of my life, I dared to do something reckless.
My birthday. A bar. Karaoke. And a man so hot he could melt the sun.
Sparks flew. Lust took over. For one night of my life, I felt alive.

Then I was back to my “boring” life. Career-driven. Goal-oriented. Always planning ahead.
But nothing could have prepared me for the positive pregnancy test. We weren’t that reckless.

There goes my “boring” life. And what happens when I tell the father?

This book title could not be more apropos for this pandemic life. There isn’t a pandemic in this book but it does have my favorite troupe, accidental baby/secret baby. One night after a magical karaoke contest is about to change Jade and Max Navarro’s life plan, for the better or the worse? Only time will tell!

A Bad Day for Sunshine by Darynda Jones

Sheriff Sunshine Vicram finds her cup o’ joe more than half full when the small village of Del Sol, New Mexico, becomes the center of national attention for a kidnapper on the loose.

Del Sol, New Mexico is known for three things: its fry-an-egg-on-the-cement summers, strong cups of coffee—and, now, a nationwide manhunt? Del Sol native Sunshine Vicram has returned to town as the elected sheriff—thanks to her adorably meddlesome parents who nominated her—and she expects her biggest crime wave to involve an elderly flasher named Doug. But a teenage girl is missing, a kidnapper is on the loose, and all of this is reminding Sunshine why she left Del Sol in the first place. Add to that the trouble at her daughter’s new school, plus and a kidnapped prized rooster named Puff Daddy, and, well, the forecast looks anything but sunny.

But even clouds have their silver linings. This one’s got Levi, Sunshine’s sexy, almost-old-flame, and a fiery-hot US Marshal. With temperatures rising everywhere she turns, Del Sol’s normally cool-minded sheriff is finding herself knee-deep in drama and danger. Can Sunshine face the call of duty—and find the kidnapper who’s terrorizing her beloved hometown—without falling head over high heels in love…or worse?

Living in South Florida this has been my mantra for the past couple of days during social distancing.  This is a wicked book of rom com fun and who doesn’t need a laugh these days! There’s a kidnapped prized rooster, a small town, and a missing teenage girl. Our MC is the newly elected Sheriff and she’s a badass.  The mystery element drives the plot forward while the comedic antics by the characters provides much needed relief. This is the first in a new series.

Always Enough by Kelly Elliot

Grieving the loss of her fiancé two years ago, Kaylee longs for a fresh start. When she follows her best friend from Atlanta to Hamilton, Montana, Kaylee looks forward to the wild terrain and a new town to help her forget the memories and dreams of a life that will never be hers.

After a tragic car accident, Ty Shaw is told he may never walk again. But Ty doesn’t easily accept defeat, and through grit, determination, and more physical therapy than any man should ever endure, he beats the odds. Even though he’ll never ride again, Ty longs to feel alive—the way he did on the Professional Bull Riders circuit.

When Kaylee meets Ty, she finds him just as captivating as the rugged landscape of Montana. When Ty is with Kaylee, he remembers just how good life can be. But can they move beyond their broken hearts and dreams to find a second chance with each other?

If you’re in the mood for more of an angsty read, this is where you need to be. Out in Montana, on a farm, thinking about Ty and Kaylee’s smoking hot romance that’ll make you get up and wash your hands. There’s hard topics that are spoken about and lots of challenges thrown the couples way. However, it’s an HEA that’s hard fought and makes it that much sweeter.
