Fangirl Corner Celebrates the Best ‘Friends’ Thanksgiving Episodes!

By Frolic

'Tis the season for food, football, family and Thanksgiving Friends episodes! Friends is known for it's hysterical turkey day eps and while they are all gems, here are our top three!

3. The One Where Ross Got High (Season 6)

One word: Trifle. This episode gets the third place spot based on Rachel's dessert alone.

"What's not to like? Custard, good. Jam, good. Beef, GOOD!" -Joey

When the pages of her cookbook stick together, the desert that Rachel has so painstakingly made gets ruined when she adds beef and peas to her traditional English Trifle. Everybody pretends to like it to spare Rachel's feelings, well aside from Joey who actually does love it. The episode also includes Phoebe's crush on Monica's dad and Ross placing the blame on Chandler for getting caught smoking pot when he was younger. Basically, it's a mess all around and that makes it perfect.

2. The One With the Football (Season 3)

Ahh the classic football ep. This episode is less about Thanksgiving itself and more about the Geller Cup, aka a troll nailed to a 2x4.  The group plays 3 on 3 touch football while the turkey cooks and Ross and Monica's intense competitive nature turns it into a must watch.

"Chandler: Hey Joey, where do Dutch people come from?

Joey: Uh... well the Pennsylvania Dutch come from Pennsylvania.

Chandler: and the other Dutch come from somewhere near the Netherlands right?

Joey: Nice try, see the Netherlands is this make believe place where Peter Pan and Tinkerbell come from."

While Ross and Monica compete for the cup, Joey and Chandler vie for the attention of a pretty Dutch girl, Rachel tries to be taken seriously and Phoebe is her delightful self.

Oh did I mention that I want Phoebe's 'That Girl' tee?

1. The One With Chandler in a Box (Season 4)

One of our all-time favorite episodes. After Joey catches Chandler with his girlfriend he proves his love to Joey by spending Thanksgiving in a box to recreate when Joey himself got locked in a box.

"The meaning of the box is threefold. One, it gives me the time to think about what I did. Two, it proves how much I care about my friendship with Joey. And three... it hurts!" - Chandler

The yummy Michael Vartan of Alias fame makes a guest appearance as Monica's ex Richard's son.  They are attracted to each other but after an ill-fated kiss where she realized he kisses like his father they both are too disgusted to even look at each other. Oh and Rachel and Ross are arguing but what else is new, am I right?!

The best part of this ep is all the jokes that Chandler makes from inside the box. It's so weird, it's perfect.

There you have it. Our top 3 Thanksgiving Friends episodes. Anyone else feeling a major Netflix-binge right now?
