Fangirl Corner Presents Five Reasons You Need To Watch “Kim’s Convenience” Like, NOW
Kim's Convenience began its life as a play that debuted at the Toronto Fringe Festival in 2011. Five years later, it is now a popular TV show on the CBC, and is now playing internationally on Netflix. It's also the greatest show ever and everyone MUST watch it.
Kim's Convenience follows the misadventures of a Korean-Canadian family that runs a convenience store. It's got personable characters and quirks that we'd liken to Parks and Recreation, but with a family instead of a workplace comedy.
The journey from stage to screen took Mr. and Mrs. Kim with them
Appa and Umma are played by Paul Sun-Hyung Lee and Jean Yoon, respectively. They were the store's bosses on the stage as well as on screen.
As noted in this gif series about their glamorous night out.
And speaking of Jung... let's take a moment of silence to appreciate the eye candy that is Simu Liu.
