We can’t stand the wait for the next To All the Boys movie! We can’t get enough of Lara Jean and Peter K. But we’re sad to admit that we may have forgotten a bit about the plot. If you’re like us, we’re here for you! Here’s your essential recap of To all the Boys I’ve Loved Before.
The movie starts out with the lovely Lara Jean mourning her sister’s departure for college. When said older sister breaks up with Josh, Lara Jean’s close friend, she’s heartbroken for him. She’s also sort of in love with him, which only complicates things. In fact, she’s so into him that she wrote him and four other crushes of hers letters that she never intends to send. The problem? Someone else has other plans…and when she shows up to school, the letters have been sent to every single one of her crushes!
Things immediately become super awkward between her and Josh, who are close frineds. But it’s nothing compared to the craziness that ensues when Peter Kavinsky reads his! After an ill-fated kiss on the track, and a lot of explaning, Peter makes Lara Jean an offer: he’ll pretend to date her to get Josh off her back, and she’ll help him make his ex jealous. After some adorable rule-making, the game is afoot…
After a few weeks of “fake” dating, it all comes to a head on the ski trip. Our two lovebirds share a steamy kiss in the hot tub, and everything seems like it’s coming together…until a video of them together is posted on Instagram. Mortified, Lara Jean ends things with Peter. It seems that all hope is lost!
Finally, it’s revealed that Lara Jean’s adorable younger sister Kitty sent the letters off, in an attempt to make her sister live a little. All of the misunderstandings are cleared up, and Lara Jean and Peter K walk into the sunset…for now.
The new movie, P.S. I Still Love You is sure to be filled with fun drama of its own! While you’re waiting for it to drop, watch the trailer below!
