How To Have An Epic Faker-Inspired Date

It’s been about two months since my very first book baby Faker debuted and I still can’t believe I have a book out in the world! And even though I’m working on new projects (currently writing romance number two, stay tuned!), part of me misses writing about Emmie and Tate. So I thought I’d write a post about how to have an epic date inspired by some of the fun and sexy activities Emmie and Tate get up to in the book.

So the next time you can’t think of anything to do on a date, look to this post for inspiration. Do any or all of the activities listed below. As long as you’re with someone you like or love — and you’re wildly attracted to — you’ll have a grand old time, promise.

Go Rock Climbing

Be advised: rock climbing is an exhilarating date for sure, but it is not for the faint of heart. As chronicled in the book, Emmie has a difficult time (to say the least) at her local rock climbing gym because of her debilitating fear of heights. But if heights don’t bother you, and you’re an adventure seeker or someone who likes to be active on dates, definitely give rock climbing a shot. All that physical activity is sure to work up a sweat… and other fun stuff. Just imagine it: heavy breathing, muscles flexing, gazing up the rock wall and checking out your date’s physique as they scale up and down… it’s the perfect way to kick things off on a physical note.

Indulge in a Few Cupcakes

After working up a sweat rockclimbing, you’re sure to be hungry. What better treat to enjoy than cupcakes? Follow the book and opt for funfetti cupcakes (Tate’s favorite flavor). But really, no matter what you choose, they’re cupcakes, any flavor is going to be freaking delicious. You can take the convenient route and stop at a bakery or take the Faker route and bake them at home. Baking together is a sure-fire way to get up close and personal. It’s a kitchen so there’s only so much space… you’re bound to bump into each other and share a few moments of bodily contact. You can even do that super smooth move where one person stands behind the other, gripping the spoon together while you stir. How cute is that?

Binge on Chinese Food

If you’ve got a bigger appetite, stop by your favorite Chinese restaurant. In the book, Tate takes Emmie to his favorite place, Three Happiness Express (fun fact: it’s a real restaurant and it’s one of my favorites. Stop by and eat there if you’re ever in Omaha, Neb., it’s delicious!). It’s an extra special moment for Emmie and Tate because as they chow down, they get to chat in a relaxed environment and start to get to know each other in a way they never have before. And that’s the beauty of sharing a meal: it’s an intimate yet relaxed and easy way of opening up and getting closer to one another.

Make Out in the Car

If things are going really well, you may find yourself locked in a passionate kiss at some point. And if that goes well, you may find yourself transitioning to a hot makeout. If you and your date are in a car, it’s the perfect spot to have at it. Some things to keep in mind: a car is limited space so plan your movements accordingly. Sometimes when you’re in the heat of the moment, you forget even those simple no-brainer things. Tate and Emmie certainly did (read the book to find out what exactly they forget about during their sexy car makeout). One key thing to keep in mind: straddling only works well when your seat is pushed all the way back. Wink wink!

Enjoy a Few Cuddles

Maybe making out in the car isn’t your thing. That’s okay! Tate and Emmie have plenty of G-rated cuddles that are super sweet and heartwarming. Cuddling is a lovely way of sharing intimacy without the pressure of anything more happening. So whether you’re on a park bench sharing a sweet moment in nice weather or at home snuggled next to each other on the couch, it’s a lovely time, guaranteed.

Sexy Times!

Here is it. The grand finale, the moment almost everyone hopes all good dates lead to: bedroom stuff. Everything has gone smoothly, you make each other laugh, conversation is killer, chemistry is off the charts, and you’re aching to rip each other’s clothes off. Obviously you don’t need me to tell you what to do in this moment, but I will say these few things.

Remember protection! You don’t want to get to the point where you’re both so worked up, but then you realize you don’t have the proper protection. Thankfully Tate was always prepared. Be like Tate.

Remember foreplay. Yes, some people can throw down in less time than it takes to microwave a container of Easy Mac, but a lot of people need more buildup. Be a considerate partner and pay attention to what gets them off. If it’s not obvious, ask them what they like. That’s exactly what Tate does in Faker, which brings about some explosive results (lucky, lucky Emmie).

  1. Amazing! I loved these tips. The make out session in the car cracked me up. Seat all the way back. I’ll remember that! It’s been awhile since I’ve had a make out sesh in the car so I needed these tips!
And YES to everything you suggest in Sexy Times!
