What do the literary stars have in store for you this summer? Find out with our June horoscope and book recs!

Aries (March 21- April 19)

Don’t give up on your professional plans! Just because there were some set back these last few months doesn’t mean you should just throw in the towel. Once you set your eyes on something, your determination kicks into full force. That is what is so great about you, Aries, you have the courage most people dream of, remember to use that as strength and not let it become a weakness!

Book Recommendation: Meet Cute by Helena Hunting

Taurus (April 20- May 20)

While material pleasures are great, don’t forget to humble yourself with something that you made yourself. Take time and remember that while yes, money is great (for like, everything), but it won’t bring you the inner happiness that you are always searching for. Find a new project and see where it can take you.

Book Recommendation: A Cowboy to Remember by Rebekah Weatherspoon

A Cowboy to Remember by Rebekah Weatherspoon
Gemini (May 21-June 20)

How did the change go last month? Did you find something new out about yourself and the others in your life? Or is your twin side digging in their heels and refusing to let some things go? Don’t give up on yourself, if you know there are things you want to change or redefine in your life it’ll happen, just not overnight. Take this time to remember the things you like about yourself and what you like doing, add a few new things in that mix and who knows maybe you’ll find out that you really like rollerblading while playing basketball!

Book Recommendation: Hearts on Hold by Charish Reid

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

It’s okay to avoid conflict, but sometimes it’s not. If something is making you not feel the best person you can be, that is the time to speak out and tell whoever is dulling your light. While you might be a naturally pessimistic person, there are times when you should be looking on the more positive side of life. Yes, the world is in chaos, but maybe you got a big project done at home that you haven’t been able to do, or maybe you figure out how to make your grandma’s meatball recipe and master it. Look up from your phone once in a while and see the positive reality in front of you.

Book Recommendation: Pride, Prejudice and Other Flavors by Sonali Dev

Leo (July 23-August 22)

Is everything getting to you and you feel like you might actually just kind of snap? It’s okay Leo, don’t rush things at work, meet your deadlines, make your to-do list but don’t go and add forty things to do in one day, seriously. If you feel like you need to push yourself to the limit, do that in another way like binge reading an entire book series, or just go for a walk with no real destination or time restriction. Breathe in the good, and exhale the bad.

Book Recommendation: Cold Hearted Rake by Lisa Kleypas

Virgo (August 23-September 22)

With Spring in full swing you may also feel the need to change a few things about your current career or workplace. Go ask for that raise (that you probably 1000% deserve and should have gotten a year ago), or ask for more of a leadership role, or heck even a different position that’s open. You’ve got this. But remember just because you ask doesn’t mean that it’ll happen. Just know your self-worth, and that you have been seen and heard. Take some much-needed time to yourself, in silence and find your calm. Find your balance in life and when you put your other foot down remember that being vulnerable isn’t a weakness.

Book Recommendations: Not That Kind of Guy by Andie J. Christopher

Libra (September 23-October 22)

I know we’ve been social distancing for what seems like forever, but it’s still okay to distance yourself from those who suck what remaining energy you have left at the end of the day. I know you don’t like conflict and try to avoid it, but when it comes to your own mental and physical health, don’t be afraid to close. While you are in desperate need for contact and socializing, this is the perfect time to reach out to that person you’ve been crushing on. While you might feel comfortable going out in public yet, remember that communication of any means will always be available. Even if it’s Facetiming for a few minutes, seeing someone that makes you feel good and can help raise your self-worth up, it’s totally worth it!

Book Recommendation: My Favorite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

Buckle up buttercup because your about to go on one crazy ride. While things in the world try to get back to “normal,” that also includes your life. Of course nothing is actually going to seem like it did before all of this crazy, and those mixed feeling you have, well that’s about the only normal thing going on right now. Misunderstandings and crossed wires might get in the way of your love life so make sure that the person or people you hold near and dear know what’s going on in your head.

Book Recommendation: Fake It Til You Make It by Anne Harper

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

You might have to make some tough decisions and while your heart might not agree with them, you’ll know that they’ll be the right decisions. While the ghost of Christmas past might come up, don’t worry. Not all ghosts are bad, just remember the people of your present. Find your center, and focus on your career, your heart will come around.

Book Recommendation:  The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa

Capricorn (December 22-January 19)

It only takes a few minutes to write a thank you note to someone or send off a quick text with some kind words. Don’t forget the people who’ve helped you in your career or at home, and most importantly, don’t forget to reward yourself once in a while. Trust in your gut and go with your first instincts, whatever has been taking shape for a while might come to surface and you’ll know exactly what to do.

Book Recommendation: Thanks! How Practicing Gratitude Can Make You Happier by Robert A. Emmons, Ph.D

Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

You are a lot more flexible then you think you are, give yourself some credit and let yourself go with the flow. Friendships are like flowers; they should tend too and nurtured no matter what kind of weather comes your way. If you are finding communicating difficult, find other ways, simple things like sharing memes and food videos, they’ll remind your friends that you’re still there and you’ll be bringing a little joy as well.

Book Recommendation: Grown Up Pose by Sonya Lalli

Pisces (February 19-March 20)

This is the time when you really need to start believing in your creative self. You never know what you are capable of until you try it, if there was ever a time to start that new creative outlet this is the perfect time. Remember, no one can master something on the first try, so if you mess up don’t give up, just take a breath, re-focus, and go back. Remember if you aren’t ready to show the world what your craft is, know that you have people in your life who will support you!
