June’s Goddess: Holly Golightly, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Truman Capote

The heroine of Truman Capote’s light and dark tale later turned into a delightful rom-com, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Holly is awash in possibilities. It’s what lights her up. She doesn’t want to get pinned down, and she wants to keep her rose-colored glasses firmly on because she has something to escape. We all do. But getting distracted by pretty, shiny things is what birds do. You’re much more evolved. Enjoy the glitter and the fairy lights this month, but balance your brain with your heart.

Gemini keeps popping up this month, and not just because that’s where the loving sun’s rays are warming (but, yes, also because of that). June 2nd’s Gemini new moon opens a month that offers a wealth of possibilities, but also a sense of being scattered and unfocused. On June 8, Venus leaves Taurus where it’s been ruling the roost and heads to Gemini where flirtation is maximized but a real depth of emotions are left on the table. If you’re dating around, you may suddenly feel like you have a lot of options even if they aren’t the best matches. Go with it, and enjoy it for what it is.

A sexy day to circle on your calendar — and clear your evening obligations (or Netflix My List) for — is June 13th, when passionate planet Mars links up with mystery and romance planet Neptune. Aries, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces, take note: Neptune has a tendency to encourage you to go overboard, so watch yourself a couple more times this month, following this day of sensuality. June 16, Father’s Day, use your thinking cap instead of following your heart, as hard as that may be for you, and then during the June 17th Sagittarius full moon you may want to take risks. Don’t. Instead, focus on loose ends you want to tie up before the June 21 summer equinox.

A new season is a new chance to define yourself. You don’t have to continue your narrative — you can create a whole new story for your life. June 23rd’s three-planet square-off of Venus, Jupiter, and Neptune could open up new worlds, but proceed with caution. Take a little time during Neptune’s upcoming retrograde to pull into yourself, recharge, and get ready for July’s eclipse season and Mercury retrograde (starting July 7). It’s going to be a scorcher.
