Welcome to your March horoscopes and book recs. What do the literary stars have in store for you?

Aries (March 21- April 19)

As we head into your star sign time, don’t be too short-tempered when it comes to people, work, and life. You might be feeling stuck and frustrated with everything and everyone.  This is probably a good time to look into what you are doing with all that pent-up energy. While the weather may be keeping you inside from your normal outside activities, look up some other ways to burn off that energy and just let go of whatever is getting your panties in a bunch. This is not a time to be making any rash decisions when it comes to your love life, whether you are in a relationship or not. Get rid of that bad juju before saying “thank you, next” to your partner or starting something new.

Book Recommendation: A Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet

Taurus (April 20- May 20)

Now is the perfect time to start an indoor garden! Just start with a few herbs that you normally use in your everyday cooking, or even just lavender. Either way, getting your green thumb started will help you relax into the changing of the seasons. I’m not saying you need a whole greenhouse full of plants and things, but caring for something small and simple will be a daily reminder that there is more to life than work. This also goes for your love life; nourishment comes in different forms in both giving and receiving. We know that you are devoted when it comes to partners but if you aren’t getting the right kind of food for your love, you’ll start expecting the same thing from other areas of your life.. You are a beautiful flower, not a cactus: you need water and love daily!

Book Recommendation: Sprouts of Love by Valerie Comer

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Now is a great time to start cleaning out your home, work space, and people. Clutter can keep your creative juices from flowing, and right now I’m guessing that you are itching to try something new in whatever creative outlet you have. People are no exception. If they are being that dark rain cloud over something you’re excited about or are constantly questioning what you do (in your job, creativeness and life), then spring clean them! Needless to say, maybe it’s time to spring clean your love life as well. If something isn’t going in the direction you want it to and you two can’t see eye to eye, maybe it’s time to really talk things out.

Book Recommendation: Tidy the F*ck Up by Messie Condo

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Does March have you wishing for sunnier days and warmer temps? While there’s not much you can do about the weather except taking a vacation, why don’t you plan a staycation for yourself and maybe a few friends? This won’t be like a normal evening binge watching Netflix or anything, you should pick a “destination” you want to visit, pick something you can cook from there, and maybe even watch a movie from that area! This is also a great way to have a fun and different date night with your SO or invite the person you’re interested in over!

Book Recommendation: Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen

Leo (July 23-August 22)

You were born to help others in one form or another, but you can also be a little self-centered as well. While it’s okay to focus on your own needs first, it shouldn’t be a constant in your life. Set out a time each week for an hour and even the whole day (if you have that kind of time!) and let that be the day when you can focus on you. On the other days of the week, do what you know you do best and help those who need it. Small acts of kindness are a great way to pay it forward and help someone out without having the attention all be on you. Don’t forget to help those who are not only in your love life but also in your friendship life and even family life, a simple “hey is there anything I can help you with?” could just be the thing to open up some new dialog and strengthen those bonds!

Book Recommendation: The Country Guesthouse by Robyn Carr

Virgo (August 23-September 22)

Do you keep a journal? If you don’t, you should really get one and use it daily. Journaling can help you get things off your chest when talking to others may be too hard to do. It might also help boost your confidence and let you start saying what is on your mind. You may be a private person, but try sharing something that happens at work, school or in life in general that’s exciting and something you would normally keep to yourself. Let those people see who you really are under that practicality!

Book Recommendations: The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever by Julia Quinn

Libra (September 23-October 22)

You may have beem born in fall, but Libra, you are definitely a spring person! Consider yourself a social butterfly and take flight this coming season! While staying in is the safest option, when friends ask you go do something or if you see an event near you, put your big girl wings on and go do it (as soon as you can do so safely, of course)! Take this into consideration when it comes to your love life too. Usually your partner is making sure that you are always interested but reverse the roles and do something that interests them! Not in a relationship? Perfect time to get to know someone with an introduction into their interest!

Book Recommendation: Dance With Me by Heidi Cullinan

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

I’m giving you some homework. Reach out to a friend that you haven’t talked to in a while and either hit them up via text or grab some coffee. You’ll be surprised to find out that there are some friendships you can simply just pick up where you left off. Isn’t that kind of the best thing ever? Friendships come in all shape and sizes, don’t be afraid to show your truest self in each and every one of them. Speaking of friendships, that’s what makes a relationship really work. If you’re already in one, or maybe just starting out, don’t forget the friendship in the mix of all the romance!

Book Recommendation: Secrets and Lace by Bonnie R. Paulson

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

One of your greatest strengths, whether you know it or not, is that you are able to transform your thoughts into actions and once you get an idea, watch out, world, because here you come! If you have something bubbling in your head, either for work, life, or anything creative, use that superpower and turn that thought into an action! As for your love life, include whoever is in your life and share that idea you have. You’ll never know if they have something that could help you, just remember that you’re a rockstar.

Book Recommendation: Cake by J. Bengtsson

Capricorn (December 22-January 19)

At one point or another, there will come a time when you simply won’t like something, or someone. It could be small things that add up until it just turns you off completely. Last year, your favorite food could have been sushi, but now whenever you think of sushi, you might want to gag. Forgiveness goes a long way, and maybe it’s time to start trying to forgive others for small mistakes. It also goes a long way to start forgiving yourself for your own small mistakes, don’t beat yourself up over the small things.

Book Recommendation: The Right Swipe by Alisha Rai

Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

I’m going to just throw this out there: you should really join a book club. There, I said it. Book clubs can be found at your local libraries, bookstores, or even coffee shops! This way, you get the pleasure of reading a book and challenging your mind and joining people once a month (or whenever they meet) to talk about the book. You are likely a group person and if you’re not, it’ll help you break out of your little bubble. As for your love life, love comes in many different forms. Ask yourself what kind of love you deserve. It’ll be a start into something new and challenging!

Book Recommendation: Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

Pisces (February 19-March 20)

Don’t let people take your compassion for granted. You are a naturally trusting person, so it’s hard when you start questioning that trust in others. This is the time to put your big girl panties on and start standing up for yourself. You are deserving of the same thing you give to those you care for! For your love life, I’ll say this once, and I’ll probably say it again, but you need romance in your life, either from your partner, potential partner, or just from yourself. If you aren’t getting romance from someone, girl treat yoself and plan a romantic night for one! Do this even if you are in a relationship, it’ll help you discover what you are truly missing!

Book Recommendation: The Highlander by Kerrigan Byrne
