GUYS YES HELLO HI!!! I HAVE A NEW OBSESSION AND I NEED TO SHARE IT WITH YOU!!!!! I recently attended an event called BeaulitfulCon in Phoenix, AZ, which basically celebrates all things bookish so it’s like, the best and most fun place ever!!!! While there I was introduced to a new-to-me author, Daisy Prescott. I knew instantly that she would become one of my favorites as she was hilarious and full of positive energy. I kept finding myself looking for her throughout the weekend because her conversation was witty and interesting. While chatting, she mentioned that she wrote RomComs and showed me her redesigned covers for her series, Wingmen, and I fell in love. I downloaded Ready to Fall (Wingmen#1) as soon as I got back to my hotel and started reading it immediately.

Not only did that book steal my heart but it also solidified Daisy Prescott as an auto-buy author for me. After finishing Ready to Fall I knew I had to tell more people about this series! Thankfully Daisy is the best and agreed to have a quick chat with me!! Check it out below!

Summer: Daisy! Hi!!! I love the idea of elevator pitches for books because life is crazy and we don’t always have time to read a 4 paragraph description LOL. Can you describe the wingmen series to me in 140 characters or less? Pitch it to me in a tweet!

Daisy: Fun, sexy small town Rom Coms about six charming wingmen, the women they love, friendship, coffee and the amazing island they call home.

Summer: Ohh man that sounds Hashtag GREAT, amirite folks??? (sry for the dad joke) Daisy, I am such a fan of the redesigned covers and all of the little details you’ve included in them. Can you talk a little about how you chose a cover designer and how you brought the covers to life?

I had a conversation with several author friends about the old “face” covers last year and how I wanted to rebrand this series to something that included references to the Pacific Northwest. The location (Whidbey Island) is its own character in the books and the old covers didn’t convey the small town charm of this series. That’s where the idea of the National Park poster feel came from.

I’ve been loving the trend of illustrated covers over the last couple of years. Natasha Boyd released Accidental Tryst last February and I loved the design. I reached out to her and she introduced me to the designer, Julianne Burke of Heart to Cover. I created a mood board and shared pics with Julianne and she took it from there. We worked together on getting the colors and designs just right. The badges were her idea—and they’re one of my favorite parts of the rebranding. As a bonus for readers, every cover has a little PNW Easter egg.

Summer: Ahhh, I love the idea of the Easter eggs on each cover but I think my favorite part are the spines of each book and how they totally fit the whole PNW vibe. Which leads me to one of the first things that I found out about the Wingmen series. They’re all set in the PNW. This is a place I’ve always wanted to visit, mostly because I need to see Forks, Washington and live my best #TwiHard life LOL, But it made me curious as to how you chose this location? And if you’ve been to Whidbey Island, are all of the men as handsomely rugged as you write them to be? (Asking for a friend) (It’s me. I’m the friend.)

First, I love that you’re a Twihard, too! #Twilightforever. I’ve been to Forks! Long before Twilight and it was still a sleepy, logging town. (Side note: Definitely visit the Olympic National Park when you go!)

Back to Whidbey. I’ve been visiting the island most of my life and I have family there. It’s a gorgeous, special place. Close to Seattle, but once you’re on the ferry, the rest of the world melts away. Whidbey’s one of my favorite spots on the planet.

To answer your “friend’s” question, yes, all of the men are handsomely rugged. Must be something in the coffee. For anyone who has read Ready to Fall, this might sound familiar. I moved to Whidbey from NYC when I was thirty and ended up meeting my husband at The Dog House tavern, which features in the books. We now live outside of Boston and I dream of moving back to the island someday.

Summer: Definitely putting Olympic National Park on my list!!  I am SUCH a fan of rom-coms and I often day dream about my fave authors writing books together (I mean a Penny Reid and R.S. Grey book would be HILARIOUS) so if you could choose one person, dead or alive, to write a book with, who would it be?

I adore Rachel and Penny and their books! For years, readers have joked that my Wingmen and Penny’s Winston Brothers would all be friends. (Maybe it’s the beards?) I can’t choose just one author! Dead? Probably Jane Austen. Alive? Ask me again in April.

Summer: JANE AUSTEN?? YES!!!!!!! And I totally agree – I think a Wingmen/Winston Brothers mashup would be HILARIOUS. Can we ask what you’re working on next? Can you give us a little sneak peek?

I’m revising and editing The Last Wingman, which releases March 7th. This is Jonah Kingston’s book. He’s been around since Geoducks Are for Lovers, my first novel that’s also set on Whidbey. After waiting for six years, he’s finally getting his HEA! Once I’m finished with TLW, I’ll be working on a secret project (see answer to #4). After that, I need to choose between projects on my long TBW (to be written) list.

Needless to say, I am SO EXCITED for The Last Wingman!!! Is it March 7th yet?!! All of the responses to Jonah’s story that you’ve shared on your Instagram have been slowly killing me with anticipation! Thank you so much for chatting with me today!!

If you guys haven’t yet picked up the Wingmen series by Daisy Prescott then you are missing out! It is one of the most refreshing and hilarious series that I have read in a very long time. So stop waiting and go grab it!!!!
