My Romance Threesome of the Week by Kate Olson

I’m BACK! And I’m absolutely loving the chance to share these three things with you every single week ~ please do reach out to me on Instagram with any feedback!

More free books… with a small commitment

Can’t stop won’t stop sharing about where I get my books! There are just SO MANY sources of books that don’t cost a thing and I would hate to keep them hidden. This one is a secret to many casual readers, but really shouldn’t be. If you are willing to write a short review of books you read, and if you love to read on your Kindle or other device, NetGalley is THE place to get access to free books before they are even released. Your job is simply to read the books (so hard, right?) and then write a short, decent review and share it on NetGalley, Goodreads, and your other platforms of choice. You will need to have a Goodreads account and either a blog or Instagram account so you can demonstrate that you will be sharing your reviews, but that’s a small price to pay for so. many. books.

For those of you already reading and reviewing on NetGalley, do go and check out the #netgalleyreadathon that @jackiereadsbooks is hosting on Instagram for the month of August - there are PRIZES! For people like me who requested 1.7 gazillion books on NetGalley when they first joined, and then got approved for ALL of them, this challenge is a good motivator.

A chaste romance by one of my go-to authors

I have shared about my love of Debbie Macomber several times here already, so I was so excited about her latest title that just released this month!

Cottage By the Sea by Debbie Macomber

You all know that I read a LOT of steamy romance now, but in my early 20s, I definitely did not.....and that was when I stumbled upon and fell in love with Debbie Macomber's work. COTTAGE BY THE SEA is the exact type of romance I inhaled back then and still more than appreciate today ~ sweet, chaste, and clean in all ways. This story has a beautiful setting in a tiny Pacific Northwest beach town and the characters are so refreshingly unique ~ a troubled male painter of few words, a grief-stricken female physician assistant and a woman afraid to leave her own home. Also, while a traumatic event does start out the book, I promise that this is NOT the focus of the story beyond showing a strong female overcoming grief.

If you are looking for an inspirational (but not overtly Christian) love story, definitely consider picking one up sooner than later. And if you haven't read her work before, please also try out the Blossom Street series ~ that's my favorite!

On My Radar

This book is one of my most anticipated reads of this summer, and don’t you worry — I preordered it so I should get it on release day — July 31st.  It’s the second in a series, so please do go and read book 1 (A Princess in Theory) first if you haven’t read it yet — I promise it’s worth having to go back before starting this one!

Duke by Default (Reluctant Royals Book 2)  by Alyssa Cole (Publisher Summary)

Award-winning author Alyssa Cole’s Reluctant Royals series continues with a woman on a quest to be the heroine of her own story and the duke in shining armor she rescues along the way

New York City socialite and perpetual hot mess Portia Hobbs is tired of disappointing her family, friends, and — most importantly — herself. An apprenticeship with a struggling swordmaker in Scotland is a chance to use her expertise and discover what she’s capable of. Turns out she excels at aggravating her gruff silver fox boss…when she’s not having inappropriate fantasies about his sexy Scottish burr.

Tavish McKenzie doesn’t need a rich, spoiled American telling him how to run his armory…even if she is infuriatingly good at it. Tav tries to rebuff his apprentice, and his attraction to her, but when Portia accidentally discovers that he’s the secret son of a duke, rough-around-the-edges Tav becomes her newest makeover project.

Forging metal into weapons and armor is one thing, but when desire burns out of control and the media spotlight gets too hot to bear, can a commoner turned duke and his posh apprentice find lasting love?
