My Romance Threesome of the Week by Kate Olson

By Kate Olson (aka TheLoudLibraryLady)

We’re trying something different, my romance-loving friends! I have such a random assortment of things I’m DYING to tell you about every week that I’m going to be sharing three of them at a time... and limiting to three a week is going to be a massive challenge!

Tabs. Otherwise Known as How I Read Multiple Books at the Same Time.

One of the questions I get asked the very most on Instagram is how I finish SO MANY BOOKS. And honestly, my answer is really long and really rambling and reveals a lot about my lack of social life. BUT. One of the strategies I use to help me get through some of the heavier, longer nonfiction books while also reading romance and a book for work and a something else all at the same time,  is by setting daily page goals for some of the books. I usually do this for the heavier-topic books or the ones that I am most likely going to struggle with, like fantasy. I read so widely and really need to for my own personal growth and for my professional life, but I’m honestly not always in the mood for just any book at any given time.

How do I do it? Nothing fancy! I look at when I want to try to finish the book by, and then divide the pages up by that many days and use page markers or flags or post-it tabs with the day written on them. The main thing this does for me is that it alleviates my anxiety about feeling like I should be reading more of the harder books on any given day and gives me permission to set those aside and pick up whatever I’m in the mood for the rest of the day. This means I’m always in the middle of at least 3 books, and I always have something on hand that my brain is happy about!

The H-O-T-T-E-S-T Female/Female Romance My Ears Have Ever Heard.

Seasons of Love by Harper Bliss

I have a hard time even writing about this one without blushing - it is H-O-T. Steaming hot. I randomly came across it in the Audible Romance package (more on that next week!) and loved the cover and figured I’d give it a shot. AND HOLD THE PHONE. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR. You guys. I need to, must, HAVE to get my hands on literally anything Harper Bliss has ever written and probably also everything that this narrator has ever read out loud. Sexiest British accent, I promise.

Seasons of Love is a May-December romance between 51-year-old Joy and her best friend’s 29-year-old daughter Alice who reconnect while having to share a vacation home in Portugal. Alice had been married to a man years before and has been celibate for many years, and let’s just say that Joy teaches her a LOT of things about love and life. The rest of the story takes place back home in England, and their love story is just so tender, despite the complexities of the age gap and the tensions with Alice’s mother.

If you listen to romances, definitely add this to your TBR! And if you don’t, it’s probably amazing in print as well…….but, that narration. Swoon.

On My Radar

I spend a vast amount of time reading reviews and building my book wish lists (see my Instagram story highlights for my Fall Preview and most anticipated titles for July!) and I love spreading the word about books I can’t wait to read.  I’ll just be sharing one or a few at a time here, but I hope I can help you find some titles to look ahead for!

Here is one that releases on July 10th that I can’t wait to read!
