From sweater OOTDs to insta-worthy PSLs, it’s safe to say that fall… has fallen. In true fashion, every store is stocking up on everything from jack-o-lanterns to Christmas trees. And we’re stocking up on holiday movie recommendations. This year, several new movies are coming to streaming platforms like Netflix and Hulu, and we’re here to give you a jumpstart to your must-see list. Plus, we have a bonus holiday novel for all the bookworms out there.

The Noel Diary
1. The Noel Diary

This is Us fans, anyone? If you’ve missed Justin Hartley and his steamy goodness, you’re in luck. He stars in The Noel Diary, a 2022 movie about a best-selling author (we love it!) who returns home for the holidays to settle his mother’s estate. While there, he discovers a long-lost diary of his — and a lucky lady who is discovering something of her own. Their paths cross and, well, we’ll let you figure out the rest.

Falling for Christmas
2. Falling for Christmas

Lindsay Lohan meets Chord Overstreet in this holiday movie, coming November 2022. Falling for Christmas follows the story of a wealthy, but spoiled, heiress who gets in a skiing accident and suffers from amnesia. After her diagnosis, she finds herself in the caring hands of a good-looking cabin owner and his daughter. Here’s the catch: She was engaged before her accident. Was?! Okay, we’ll stop there. Does she work things out with her fiancé or is she whisked away by this charming cabin owner?

The Holiday
3. The Holiday

We had to put at least one classic on this round-up. If you haven’t seen The Holiday already, drop everything you’re doing and go see it. If you have, great — we recommend seeing it at least 5 times every holiday season. At LEAST. Cameron Diaz, Jack Black, Nicole Kidman, and Jude Law warm our hearts in this house-swapping holiday movie packed with love, feels, and Christmas carols.

Honorary mention: In the Event of Love by Courtney Kae

You’ve got a busy watching season ahead of you, but don’t forget to read! Holiday books are one of our favorite things in the world — and we’ve got our eyes on a special one this season: In the Event of Love. Written by Courtney Kae, In the Event of Love has a little bit of everything. It’s a queer romcom about LA-based event planner Morgan Ross who goes home for the holidays to escape a tabloid blowup… only to find herself facedown in front of her small-town childhood crush, Rachel Reed.

On top of that, Morgan soon learns that Rachel’s family business, a tree farm, has been struggling and may not be able to survive the winter. Will Morgan and Rachel hit it off (again)? Will Morgan escape her PR nightmare? Can Rachel’s tree farm make it? Find out for yourself!
