[Note from Frolic: This post is brought to you by our friends at Kensington. Looking for your next book with some glamorous London glitz? Look no further than Seduce Me with Sapphires by Jane Feather, out now!]

Birthstone jewelry is a great way to add any outfit, and show off your personality! Seriously, how cool is it that each of us has an assigned gemstone? Better yet, we’ve taken the liberty of pairing each birthstone to book recs just for you. This post is inspired by Jane Feather’s new novel, Seduce Me with Sapphires. Seduction AND gemstones!? Yes, please! Peruse this list to find your next great read, or seven!

January: Garnet: Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

Though Chloe Brown is known for her signature blue glasses, the cover of this book features bright red letters! In this adorable romance from Talia Hibbert, our chronically ill heroine Chloe goes on a mission to “get a life,” with some help from her hero, “Red.” What better gem to pair with this book than a shiny garnet?

February: Amethyst: A Princess in Theory by Alyssa Cole

Is there anything more glamorous than royalty? Nope! In this purple-covered masterpiece, protagonist Naledi is understandably skeptical when she starts receiving emails from a prince who’s claiming to be her betrothed. What follows is a rich love story that’s just as sparkly as a priceless amethyst.

Aquamarine
The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
March: Aquamarine: The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

How perfectly do these colors match!? The Kiss Quotient is a beloved romance by author Helen Hoang. It follows protagonist Stella as she hires an escort to become more comfortable with intimacy. Her uber-sexy hero and affinity for mathematics will have you falling head over heels for this story.

April: Diamond: Something to Talk About by Meryl Wilsner

Just look at that diamond earring! The romance in this new romance has more sparkle than even the highest karat diamond. When superstar Jo and her assistant Emma are photographed on the red carpet, rumors fly! When they realize that the rumors of their romance might have some basis in truth, they’ll have to fight to find their HEA. This one comes out in May; add it to your TBR now so you don’t miss it!

May: Emerald: Where the Forest Meets the Stars by Glendy Vanderah

This wholesome love story will warm your heart. When a little girl claiming to be an alien wanders onto her property, Jo is understandably shaken. She teams up with her grumpy neighbor, Gabriel, and together, they solve the mystery of who Ursa is and might just fall in love along the way. Full of rich characterization, this contemporary novel is sure to be one of your new favorites.

June: Alexandrite: Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

The purple of the alexandrite pairs perfectly well with the cover of Beautiful Creatures. In this magical YA romance, Ethan finds himself falling for new girl Lena. The problem? Lena has magical powers, powers that make kissing downright electric but also dangerous. The date is fast approaching when she’ll have to choose between good and evil. Can her love with Ethan survive it?

July: Ruby: Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

One of the most adorable romances of 2019, this book follows the son of the United States president and the prince of England. Though the two can’t stand each other at first, that might just give way to some new feelings as the two spend more and more time together. Queer diplomats falling for one another!? Yes, please!

August: Peridot: Splintered by A.G. Howard

There are few things more magical than a gemstone. That’s why the August birthstone pairs so wonderfully with this modern Alice in Wonderland retelling! When Alyssa finds herself in a magical, dangerous world, it’s all she can do to survive…and reconcile the love triangle she has with her best friend and the dark lord of wonderland. This great book is full of wonder, magic and more!

September: Sapphire: Seduce me with Sapphires by Jane Feather

If you love London, the theatre, glitz, glamour or all of the above, you will adore Seduce Me with Sapphires by Jane Feather! Protagonist Fenella  dreams of being an actress, but faces obstacles in historic London. But her luck changes when she meets playwright Edward, who is determined to make her a star. He also might steal her heart along the way. If you’re craving a truly glamorous love story to get lost in, Seduce Me with Sapphires is the perfect fit for you!

October: Pink Tourmaline: Anyone But a Duke by Betina Krahn

Another adorable historical romance that will make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. This book, in the Sin and Sensibility series, follows protagonist Sarah as she tries to find love with anyone but a duke. But the universe has other plans and she finds herself falling hard and fast for a stranger who just might be one.

November: Topaz: The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

Enemies to lovers is just the thing you need to warm you up in a chilly month like November! The Hating Game is a classic office romance with plenty of angst thrown in. Office rivals Lucy and Josh are determined to one-up each other in every way possible. But what happens when their friendly competition turns into real-life feelings!?

December: Blue topaz: Love Lettering by Kate Clayborn

The gorgeous cover of this book matches blue topaz perfectly! Protagonist Meg is famous for her hand lettered cards, but can’t seem to find love. All that changes when she meets Reid. A love story just as gorgeous as calligraphy, or a shiny blue topaz.
