This month we’re celebrating Father’s Day and what a better way to celebrate than with some romance novel Dad’s! The single dad, the accidental dad, these and many others have been very popular tropes and illustrates that Dads come in all shapes and sizes. Let’s dive into some of my favorites.

Abruption by Riley Mackenzie

This is one I read a couple of years ago and, I loved it so much! Julia is the new nurse at the ER and Dr. Guy Hunter is the unattainable hot doctor on the rounds. When they first meet, they immediately lock horns. Guy is a single dad with two kids at home and one who needs extra attention. He doesn’t have time to deal with the new nurse but, life has other plans. As their lives become more and more intertwined, mysteries are revealed with a heart stopping finish. I loved the chemistry between these two, the banter, and the unfurling of the plot kept me engaged from start to finish.

Sustained by Emma Chase

This is one of my favorite books ever and my first Emma Chase book! It’s the second in a series but can be read as a standalone. Jake is an enigma, filled with plenty of charm but also brutish-like behavior — the perfect mix for an alpha male. Basically, Jake is a defense attorney with a huge chip on his shoulder. Our heroine, Chelsea is drowning in responsibility after inheriting her 6 nieces and nephews. This unlikely couple gives you a tender, lighthearted story of a man finding his own kind of family. Jake never thought he would be in for a commitment but then he slams right into a whole lot of it. This book leaves you with a smile on your face and gives you lots of LOL moments.

Law Man by Kristen Ashley

Kristen Ashley writes beautiful love stories and Law Man illustrates that. Mitch is the local police officer that has caught Mara’s eye. As neighbors, they’re in close proximity, but with Mara’s crushing shyness have never really spoken. All of that changes when Mara desperately needs help after having to rescue her cousin’s children. As these two strangers travel down this new road, they realize they make a better team together, rather than separate. Mitch exemplifies the best dad traits, as he patiently offers up strength to Mara and is the best role model for the kids.

Athica Lane by Brynne Asher

Cam is a single dad that can be described in one word, a curmudgeon.  He came by it honestly with life that is filled with many issues, a side business that has its headaches and Paige Carpino. Cam is too busy to date, he has two gorgeous kids to take care of and his business seems like a third. But, Paige is a sassy heroine that becomes more than just his kids’ caretaker. Cam is a brilliant father who, at first, reserved his soft side for his kids but, as the story develops we see a relationship with Paige begin to blossom after being on the receiving end of his benevolent spirit.

Whether you celebrate Father’s Day or not, dive into these books for some swoony love stories with hilarious, tender moments.
