Three Romance Reads With Hot Dads… You’re Welcome!

By Kate Olson

Father's Day, here in the United States, is Sunday, June 17, so I decided you all are probably on the hunt for reads with awesome fathers! All too often, women’s fiction and romance titles feature single moms with deadbeat dads OR moms who do everything with bumbling distant fathers in the background. Not so in these books, my friends.

I am fortunate to be married to an amazing man who not only cleans the house way better than I ever could (or would want to), but he is also a fabulous father who sets the bar extremely high for fictional dads. I grew up with divorced parents and feel so fortunate that our kids have such a stellar role model in their lives.

Read on to meet some dads who will set the bar high for dads in your life too!

Even the Score by Beth Ehemann

I loved this story of a single dad sports agent who falls for the female agent who just started working at his firm. Andy and Danicka are such a great couple, and while he definitely tries to rescue her, she is NOT a damsel in distress. Fatherhood definitely is a large part of the story, but there is way more to it! The Minnesota setting and all of the sport star secondary characters make it an even more fun and unique read. Note: I actually listened to the audio version of this book and the narration is excellent. Andy’s voice, and those of his sports star friends are H-O-T!

The Storied Life of AJ Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin

This is one of my all-time favorite books and is not technically a romance book. However, there IS a fabulous romance in it  and A.J. Fikry himself is one of the best literary dads I know. The bookstore setting and his very unique path to fatherhood make this a book for your forever shelf.  I dare you to read this book and not fall head over heels.

The Way You Make Me Feel by Maurene Goo

This one is a YA romantic comedy with an amazing single dad. He may not be the main character, but Clara’s dad and his food trucks made me adore this story even more than Clara herself did. Let him be a model to all too-young-to-have-a-baby dads out there ~ they can raise that little girl single-handedly and can mold her into a fiercely independent and caring young woman.
