Three Romantic Beach Reads To Get Your Summer Started Early!
By Kate Olson
Ahhhh……. JUNE. June means summer, and to me, summer means BEACH. Growing up in Wisconsin, my beaches consisted entirely of motley patches of sand alongside rivers and lakes, but as an adult I’ve discovered the fabulous world of ocean beaches. Regardless of whether or not an actual beach is available, though, I want to read about them as much as possible! All of these stories I’m sharing with you today took me to a place with sun, sand, water and absolute relaxation ~ the best combination ever. These three will transport you to the world of fabulous waterfronts and introduce you to characters you simply won’t forget…….
The Forever Summer by Jamie Brenner
Makes you feel like you're on the beach in Cape Cod. This one has ALL of my beachy requirements ~ a group of women, family, a beach, an old beach house, a charming beach community, some sort of romance, some sort of drama, and a little sadness to cut the sugar factor.
The High Tide Club by Mary Kay Andrews
Makes you feel like you're on the beach of a lowcountry barrier island. Small coastal town + motherhood + romance + a historical mystery + a disputed inheritance + a private island = yet another book from Mary Kay Andrews that I absolutely ADORED!
A Nantucket Wedding by Nancy Thayer
Makes you feel like you're on the beach in Nantucket. This story takes place over the course of the wedding planning for a family’s matriarch, but it isn’t actually ABOUT a wedding. Just lots of family time on the beach and various love stories being played out make for a cozy summer read.
Okay, yes ~ these three are all set on East Coast beaches in the US ~ I obviously need some recommendations for some books set in OTHER beach locations! Hit me up on @theloudlibrarylady on Instagram to share your recs with me!
