If you’re like me, your Valentine’s Day plans include staying in with some wine, mac n’cheese and entirely too much chocolate. Nothing heals a heartbreak like Rosé, or so I’m told. But what am I to do once I’ve eaten so much mac n’ cheese that I can barely move? Watch some rom coms, of course! Here are three of my favorites. You may not have heard of them, but they will not disappoint, I promise.

The First Time

This is definitely my favorite rom com of all time! It stars Dylan O’Brien and Britt Robertson as Dave and Aubrey, a pair of teens struggling through a rather chaotic weekend. This movie has stunning performances and some of the best dialogue ever. It’s a raw, real look at young love and everything that comes with it. A light-hearted but still emotional movie that will have you grinning from start to finish.

An absolutely adorable LGBT romance! This movie centers around movie star Brendan as he grapples with coming out as gay. His quirky best friend, Cory, only makes things worse when he shows up and falls for Gabbi, who’s coming to terms with being bisexual. This movie deals with deep themes like sexuality, attraction and abuse, but it’s also laugh-out-loud funny. If you’re into slow-burn, this is the movie for you!

If you like your romance cheesy with a sprinkle of sweetness, this is the perfect movie for you! Dani and Cameron’s love story as well as the ups and downs they face in the digital age are a great escape from the monotony of every day. If you like influencers, animals, and kissing scenes, Reality High should be your pick this Valentine’s Day.

What are your favorite underrated rom coms? Please let me know in the comments. I need more!
