To explain a little about what this post will be about, I’m taking the intro I did for the last one: In every romance book you read there are tropes or archetypes. You can also see them in shows, movies, plays, etc. Romantic tropes are everywhere, and they are fabulous. I adore them. I adore some of them and I always tend to find my favorite ones in romance books so I can enjoy them more. I decided to do a sort of Trope Tuesday piece where I will be talking about many tropes and recommend you all some of my favorites that fit.
What is a trope? Urban Dictionary explains it best I think: “Despite the erroneous definitions already published here, trope on the interwebs really refers to an often overused plot device. It can also be described as another variation on the same theme. TV shows, movies, comics, games, anime’, & books are full of tropes & many rabid fan-sites now name & track said tropes with a self-explanatory title for each one.” We can name a few: accidental pregnancy, best friends to lovers, sibling’s best friend, marriage of convenience, and so many more for sure. Your favorite couples? They probably got a trope too! It’s always so nice to realize or find out your favorite romance trope and keep searching for books with the same theme.
In the mood for romance books with werebears, wolf shifters or maybe… unicorn shifters? The day has finally come when I talk about shifter romances! Look, these books are so fun and romantic and so very steamy. They have a little bit of everything, even action and suspense! Dangerrrrrr, you ask? You got it. Sometimes in small doses or big doses, you’ll have to read it to find out!
Shifter romances can be set in contemporary setting as well and actually can be romantic comedies too. Really shifter romances only need one or both or all characters to shift to some kind of animal or mythological being and you got yourself a shifter romances. You really can find them anywhere and I’m here to help you choose your next big read. I have for you some great shifter romances that just scream WOW and I am sure you will all enjoy them and have a very good time.
And if you have never read one, it’s totally ok! There is always a first time for everything and I hope you take a chance on these books in this list, I promise you they won’t disappoint.

From the Amazon description: “Alpha bear shifter Theon went mad with grief and murdered his mate. Only she didn’t die, and the dark unicorn sorceress Elsaday has finally returned. Will she wreak vengeance on his clan down to the last cub, or will the Solstice moon bring peace and healing?”
There is a Winter queen and she’s also a unicorn shifter!!!! Now the love interest is a bear shifter and he is supposed to be her enemy but they obviously fall madly in love. Terrible events happen and she wakes up later from a coma, not remembering what happened.
Beastly Desires by Nikki Winter

Just when her battle begins and running seems to be the most viable option she stumbles into the presence of one pushy, overbearing, food obsessed tiger who doesn’t seem too interested in letting her go…
Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh
You cannot do a shifter romance list without mentioning Nalini Singh. I mean. She’s the queen of shifter romances and you have to start your love with this trope with her. She has a big series and various other series that also are set in sort of a paranormal world. Slave to Sensation is the first book in the Psy-Changelings series so it’s a perfect book to pick up first and just continue from that point!
Psy don’t have emotions and they rule this world. On the other side, there are the Changelings, the human/animal beings. They have been living together for a while, but now they are at the brink of war. Lucas is a Changeling ready to find the Psy killer who killed Changeling women, and Sascha is a Psy and has to hide her emotions very far below or else.
You’re in for a very very good story.
The Coyote’s Bride by Holley Trent
Holley Trent also has a magnificent shifter series you can definitely read in one go. This is the sixth book in the series but you can read them all as standalones. This one is all about a one-night stand, a drunken Vegas wedding and lots of regrets. After a miscarriage, these two know they are just going to make it together. But when jaguar shifters attack Lance, they have to stay together and unravel the secrets surrounding these new shifters.
