Five Books to Cozy Up With This Winter

[Note from Frolic: This article is sponsored by A Winter by the Sea by Julie Klassen. If you’re looking for a wonderful read this season, look no further!]

Whether you live in sunny California or are curling up beside the fire on the east coast, there’s one thing we can all agree on: tis the season to READ HOLIDAY BOOKS! Whether you’re looking for yourself, or for a last-minute gift for the voracious reader in your life, grab some hot cocoa and check out these five books to cozy up with this winter.

1. A Winter by the Sea by Julie Klassen

If you’re craving getaway to regency-era England (I know I am!), or missing Sandition, this is the book for you. The second book in the On Devonshire Shores series, this enchanting historical romance also has sisters, a protagonist who wants to be an author (relatable) and tons of twisty intrigue. “A Winter By the Sea is a story about finding your purpose and realizing that the things we hope and pray for…might not always be the things we truly need,” gushes thebookscript on Goodreads. Grab this title, and the first in the series, wherever books are sold.

Here’s more about the book:

When the Duke and Duchess of Kent rent neighboring Woolbrook Cottage for the winter, the Summers sisters are called upon to host three of the royal couple’s male staff in their seaside house. But they soon realize they’ve invited mysterious secrets and the sweet possibility of romance into their home.

Meanwhile, Emily Summers approaches a local publisher in hopes of fulfilling her dream of becoming an author. When he turns her down, his dashing competitor promises to consider her novel if she will first write a new Sidmouth guidebook for him. Emily accepts and begins researching with the help of the Duke of Kent’s handsome private secretary. But a surprise visitor from her past shows up at Sea View, leaving Emily torn between the desires she used to hold dear and her budding dreams for the future.

Return to the Devonshire coast with the Summers sisters, where loyalties are tested, secrets come to light, and new love emerges.

2. Recommended for You by Laura Silverman

If you’re in the mood for an absolutely charming YA romance that celebrates all things bookish, I can’t recommend (pun intended) this novel enough! When Jake and Shoshanna find themselves competing for a holiday bonus at the bookstore they both work at, they might find that their rivalry is destined to lead to something more. Come for the romance, stay for the family dynamics and bookish fun!

3. You Make it Feel Like Christmas by Toni Shiloh

Just look at that adorable cover! If that’s not enough to convince you (it should be!), the swoony romance within will. When Starr returns home to watch her sister get married to her ex on Christmas eve, she’s understandably dreading it. But when her brother’s charming friend, Waylon, enters the picture, suddenly home doesn’t seem so bad.”I loved Starr and Waylon together. For this being shorter book, it had a lot of story and a lot of heart. This couple made me smile big and their romance made my heart happy,” gushes Christy, on Goodreads.

4. A Holly Jolly Diwali by Sonya Lalli

This is a holiday romance with a rockstar twist, which I am a total sucker for! When Niki travels to India for a wedding, she’s not looking to fall in love. But that changes when the handsome wedding singer catches her eye! Lalli is one of my favorite writers and this holiday read is lovely any time of year.

5. All’s Fair in Love and Christmas by Sarah Monzon

A holiday workplace romance!? Yes, please. When Mackenzie and Jeremy go up against each other for the big promotion at the office, it is ON. Will they be able to overcome their rivalry and find Christmas cheer, and each other? Something tells me that holiday magic is on their side…

So, if you’re looking to see sparks fly in more ways than one this holiday season, grab one of the above titles and curl up by the fire (or the space heater!)
