4 of My Favorite Steamy Workplace Romances

Let’s chat office romances, shall we? Blooming romances happening in a work space have become one of my favorite tropes to read. Secrets can be so sexy which is why this trope works so well for me.

30 Day Boyfriend by Whitney G

One of the first I read this year was 30 Day Boyfriend by Whitney G. Reading this one sent me head first down Whitney G rabbit hole that I don’t regret one single moment of. Whitney G flips the trope on its head a tad in 30 Day Boyfriend. We have Nicholas, the really hot boss who our heroine, Emily, works for and can’t stand. Emily is fed up with Nicholas and his bad attitude when the book begins but this hate to love romance turns fake dating when Nicholas gives her a proposition she can’t refuse. If Emily agrees to be his fiancé for one month, he will not only let her out of her work contract, but let her go with a very generous severance package. What I loved about this one besides the very sexual tension between these two, was the moment Nicholas realizes how during coming to his defense, Emily truly knows him. It was a very powerful scene and one of my favorite heroine isn’t taking any crap out of you scenes I’ve read all year. The only con which is also a pro depending on the reader with 30 Day Boyfriend, is that it is a novella. I could’ve easily read 200 more pages of Nicholas and Emily’s romance but Whitney G also does a very good job of wrapping things up in a way that leaves you satisfied at the same time.

Irresistible by Melanie Harlow

I could go on and on about the force that is Melanie Harlow. Have I read anything by her that I haven’t loved? Not yet. Do I expect it to happen? Again, no. My most recent read of hers was Irresistible which is book one in her Cloverleigh Farms series. There are few different tropes within the pages of Frannie and Mack’s romance. The two work together in Frannie’s parents company, so hello boss’s daughter trope (also a favorite of mine!) and Mack is a single father raising his three daughters. Frannie is a part time nanny of his, becoming more full time when one of his other nanny’s falls and hurts herself. Mack uses all the excuses he can throughout the book as to why nothing romantic can happen between he and Frannie. He’s worried about the fact that she’s the boss’s daughter and they work together. He stresses over their age difference and believes because of being a single dad, he doesn’t think he has anything to offer her. What I love about Irresistible is how well Melanie Harlow captures just how smitten with each other Mack and Frannie are but also nailing the hesitation on Mack’s part for the reasons he’s convinced himself as to why things between them can’t be any more than what they already are.

Junk Mail by Kendall Ryan

Let’s chat Junk Mail by Kendall Ryan. I have to preface this with putting it out into the universe: this book is hilarious. Junk Mail, true to its title kicks off with our heroine Peyton being on the receiving end of an unsolicited dick pic, not meant for her. Her and the sender of said dick pic spend the rest of the night flirting via text, ending only because Emily has very big day the following day. Emily runs a subscription box and has an important meeting with a company interested in helping her get it off the ground. Enter Josh, who not only works for the company, but we quickly learn, is the gentleman behind the very nice, unsolicited manhood photo. Junk Mail also has one of my favorite side characters in romance novels: the sassy grandmother. I loved Peyton and her grandmother’s relationship. Junk Mail follows two people who are very serious about putting their professional lives first, but the sexual tension and chemistry is undeniable. Go read this book friends. I loved it.

Catastrophe Queen by Emma Hart

Mallory is a hot mess and her boss Cameron is just really damn hot. Mallory is a klutz. Here is one of my favorite quotes from her, I wanted to find love and keep it and not set anything on fire or cause any natural disasters in the process.” Emma Hart writes Mallory so well, I read this book constantly anticipating Mallory to spill more coffee or fall up the stairs. She literally trips in the middle of the road in the beginning of the book, almost gets ran over, spills her coffee and drops her panties. All of this and we get to meet our hero, Cameron, who Mallory learns shortly after, is her new boss. This book was addicting and so much fun. The tension in the work place between Mallory and Cameron is perfection and so hot, and the perfect balance with Mallory’s really crazy and hilarious family back home.  It’s a must read for office romance lovers.

I am always on the search for new to me office romances, so if you have any recommendations, please shoot them my way. I hope you find a new favorite book amongst these recommendations. Treat yourself, they are all fabulous.
