We are officially in the holiday season, don’t deny it! Thanksgiving is upon us, and that means all the other holidays that mark the end of the year are coming at you in full swing! With food at the center of most of the holidays and that means family meals, Friendsgiving, work functions, and all the glorious leftovers! If you are attending one or more, or maybe your taking on the brave role of chef this year, here is a quick guide to some cookbooks you should look at and the recipes you should know from them!

Why this book? This is probably the most iconic cookbook; it has everything you need to get you started in your cooking adventure. From the start it has all the basics from measurements, spices, cooking tips and tricks. Seriously if you know anyone who is moving into a new apartment, house, getting married, or simply know that they could use some kitchen help, this is the perfect cookbook for any beginner or advance chef!

Cravings: Recipes for all the Food You Want to Eat by Chrissy Teigen

Why this book? Chrissy Teigen. Need I say anymore? The Queen of Twitter surprised us all when she released her first cookbook in 2016. I mean, we shouldn’t be surprised that she’s a brilliant cook. Her recipes are easy to understand and follow, and with a chapter called Sh*t on Toast, why wouldn’t you want to own this book!? As the title suggests, it really is filled with food you want to eat!

Why this book? This book has everything from how to shop smarter, how to store leftovers, what all the different kitchen tools do and how to use them. The recipes are easy to follow and gives you variations on the recipes so you can change things up. With 17 different chapters, this book is perfect for anyone wanting to know how to cook without making a lot of food. It’s perfect for newlyweds, small families, and especially for anyone living on their own for the first time.

The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Dinnertime – Comfort Classics, Freezer Food, 16-minute Meals, and Other Delicious Ways to Solve Supper by Ree Drummond

Why this book? Ree Drummond is a treasure that came onto our TVs in 2011, and since then, she has slowly taken over our kitchens. Okay, so here’s why you should totally own at least one of her books (she has five). Her recipes are simple, easy, filling, and just fancy enough that it’ll look like you spent hours in the kitchen when making several dishes will really only take you a half hour. Seriously. If you are looking for dishes that are going to fill you up and still be healthy, this is your book. Also, there’s is a chapter called Breakfast for Dinner, so you know it’s a winner!

Martha Stewart’s Baking Handbook

Why This Book? Why I know this isn’t a “cookbook” per se, it is probably one of the best introduction books to baking. Martha Stewart is a household name in one way or another, if you are looking for a more advanced baking book (I’m looking at you Great British Baking Show fans!) then this is the book for you! Martha explains what baking tools you should have and how to use them, and why her recipes look perfect and dainty they are easy enough to follow if you are taking the time to learn new things.
