Daily Frolic: This 97-year-old is the ultimate Prom Queen

Welcome to the Daily Frolic! The place for learning about one cool thing that’ll get you through the day.

According to CNN, “Eighty years ago, Helen Danis couldn’t afford to attend her high school’s senior prom.”

If dressing up and going out is your jam, then missing prom is darn shame when you’re in high school. According to Danis, her prom took place in the throw of The Depression, so she could not afford to go. That changed, however, when her granddaughter asked the principal of Pilgrim High School to allow her grandmother to attend.

FACT: Helen was the belle of the ball.
