From Rouge to Rom-Com: Leading Lady Looks

From happily ever after to break-up chic, the leading ladies in romantic comedies have perfected, evolved and inspired many to achieve that “in-love” glow.  Some of our favorite characters have solidified their place in the beauty hall of fame with their dewy skin, think Kate Hudson in How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days and perfect pink lip, hands down Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde.  Over the years beauty has changed and from some of the earliest romantic comedies a bold lip was all she needed and now we have flawless complexions and a wing-tipped cat eye. I know I am always looking to freshen up my make-bag and what better way then with the aid of some of our favorite rom-com ladies.  With a little bit of love and some fabulous products, these ladies motivate us all to polish up our beauty regime. Let’s face it, when you feel good about yourself and love yourself; your inner beauty shines and no guy can give you that 🙂

Elle Woods (Legally Blonde)

Think lush lashes and the perfect pout.  Try Benefit Roller Lash  and MAC Cosmetics Liptensity Lip Stick in Gumball.  If anything Elle empowers us to embrace our inner fierceness and not be afraid of who we are and what beauty choice we make.  Be confident, wear that bold lip and bend and SNAP!

Rachel Young (Crazy Rich Asians)

A berry lip with a full brow.  Try Bobbi Brown Crushed Liquid Lip in Bitter Sweet and Glossier Boy Brow Gel.  Rachel is the perfect reminder to just be yourself, in life and in beauty.  Not matter who you are, we all deserve to shine!

Darcy (Something Borrowed)

Flawless skin and perfectly tousled beach waves. Try Beautycounter Tint Skin and Ouai Wave Spray.  One of Darcy’s best qualities is her carefree attitude.  This is something I love to apply to my beauty regime, do not be afraid to take chances!

Jenna Rink (13 Going On 30)

A youthful flush and a bold, blue eye. Try Bobbi Brown Pale Pink Pot Rouge and Chanel Ombre Longwear Shadow in Blue Jean.  Jenna maybe the perfect example of chasing our youth but at the end of the day our beauty is just a reflection of who we are as a person and what we make of it all!  Inner beauty outshines outer beauty any day.

Amanda (The Holiday)

A defined eye with a natural lip. Try Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen and Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Pink BlossomLike I had mentioned before, we are all looking to switch up our beauty routine, that for many can get boring after a while.  Amanda flew across the pond to shake things up, add a nightly face mask to your routine or a serum, little extras go a long way

Kathleen Kelly (You’ve Got Mail)

A red glossy lip with tousled tresses.  Try Nars Lipgloss in Misbehave and Oribe Dry Texturizing sprayTexture! Texture!  One of of the best things about You’ve Got Mail is Meg Ryan’s ridiculously cute haircut.  Having a textured cut can add dimension and frame a bold lip or lush lash!

Marisa Ventura (Maid in Manhattan)

A golden glow with a peach lip. Try Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer and Nars Orgasm lip gloss.  Looking to go from drab to fab?  A healthy radiance is key and can be achieved  year round with bronzers and face tints. Of course Jennifer Lopez has one of the most sought after glows and in this romantic comedy she went from maid to MADE!
