Hot Guy Alert: Romance Heroes Inspired by Daniel Henney’s Dreamy Face

Author Rebekah Weatherspoon tweeted to Helen Hoang, author of The Kiss Quotient, about how they could start a “I Wrote a Romance With A Hero Who Looks Like Daniel Henney” author club. And I’m here for all of this! Here is the tweet:

If you don’t know who Daniel Henney is, don’t worry, you can find out right here and now. Daniel Henney is a Korean-American actor known best from K-dramas such as My Lovely Sam Soon and Spring Waltz, but also from American shows like Criminal Minds and movies, like 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine and 2014’s Big Hero 6 (he was Tadashi!).

In the tweet, Rebekah asked if “anyone else qualify?”. The answer was a resounding YES! The floodgates opened and so many authors described their Daniel Henney-inspired heroes from their books! It was fantastic and perfect, because who doesn’t want more Daniel Henney-like heroes in the world. Let’s recap with some of the fabulous recommendations Rebekah got, alright?

First and before anything, of course let’s discuss Rebekah’s own Daniel Henney-inspired hero, Daniel Song from Sated, the third book in her Fit trilogy. (Can read as standalones). Daniel Song is a pyrotechnics expert and a sexual switch. Rebekah writes amazing BDSM romances and this was an epic read.

Let’s not forget Helen Hoang’s own hero, Michael Phan, in The Kiss Quotient. The book does describe Michael Phan as Daniel Henney in this passage of the book, when he gets Stella’s request: “She could be a hard-ass Asian go-getter who chose him because, with his mixed Vietnamese and Swedish heritage, he looked a lot like the K-drama star Daniel Henney.”

Tara Frejas can also get into this author club with her novel Scandalized. This book features Gabriel, her own Daniel Henney-inspired hero and PR expert in the book. The main character in this book works in Seoul as a road manager to one of South Korea’s hottest bands.

Author Chi Yu Rodriguez released a short story collection, Love and Other Questionable Life Choices, with three stories inside. The second short story in the collection, named Old Habit Die Never, is the one with our lovely hero. Geoffrey Hunt, our hero in this title, was a side character in her previous novel, The Bye-Bye Bouquet. This is just a short story that will surely give you grabby hands for a full novel. And if you have followed the original thread, it seems that Chi Yu Rodriguez is in fact writing him a book!

HelenKay Dimon’s The Fixer will enchant you with the mystery, a professional fixer, a girl who wants to find her cousin and lots of romantic moments. The professional fixer is our hero here, and he lives in the shadows. While he fixes people’s problems, the heroine is really good at finding people, so when she needs him to find her cousin, she goes for him.

Many authors also tweeted about that they have upcoming books that feature heroes that are inspired by Daniel Henney’s dreamy face. One in particular, we already have a small blurb that you can scream about with me. Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck and Fortune by Roselle Lin, slated for summer of next year, from Berkley, is one to watch for sure. Magical realism, a chef, San Francisco and her family’s old Chinatown restaurant, all of it sounds incredible.

You can still follow the thread so if another author comments about having a hero inspired by Daniel’s dreamy face in one their books, you can check them out.
