Crazy Rich Asians
If I had to name the most gorgeous wedding I’ve ever seen in a movie it would have to be the ceremony in Crazy Rich Asians. The entire sequence makes me breakout in goosebumps. In the novel by the same name, Kevin Kwan describes the wedding as a forty-million-dollar affair. I’m not sure what a wedding with a price tag of forty million should look like, but the way the production team brought the scene to life is sheer perfection.
A beautiful rendition of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” plays in the background. Greenery and flowers cover every square inch of space. Right before the bride walks down the aisle, it fills with water, creating a magical walkway. The lights dim and guests hold out special wands that light up and look like fireflies.
Even though the two main characters, Nick and Rachel, aren’t the ones getting married, they’re the ones viewers are compelled to watch. In the space of a few minutes their relationship is cemented against the backdrop of one of the most gorgeous wedding scenes I’ve ever viewed. If you haven’t seen this one yet, do yourself a favor and watch it tonight.
