The Alice in Wonderland Retelling You NEED

There’s something so great about a twisty fairytale retelling! Writers are so clever when it comes to reimagining the stories we love so much. Today, we’re highlighting one of our favorite Alice in Wonderland re-imaginings: Splintered by A.G. Howard. This YA series is the perfect blend of contemporary cuteness and stunning magic. Here are three reasons to make the Splintered series your next binge!

1. Our Protagonist!

Splintered is narrated by teenager Alyssa. She’s artistic, funny and full of life. Howard writes with a charming, honest voice that will have you rooting for Alyssa from the first page. Who doesn’t love a girl that makes art projects out of dead bugs for fun? As we follow Alyssa through wonderland, we learn that she’s more than just an artist: she’s brave, witty and totally kick-ass.

2. The Love Triangle

We’re absolute suckers for a good YA love triangle, and this book has a great one. As she travels through Wonderland, Alyssa finds her heart torn in two. On one hand, there’s her best friend Jeb, a handsome skater boy she carries a secret torch for. On the other, there’s Morpheus, her Wonderland guide. We can barely keep up with all of the swooning in this series.

3. The Magic

What’s Wonderland without a little magic? As Alyssa explores Wonderland, she finds herself facing huge, dark challenges that keep us hooked to the page. If you love strange worlds, quests, curious characters or all of the above, this is the series for you.

What are you waiting for? Check out Splintered this weekend. You won’t want to put it down!
