Trope Rec Tuesday: Beach-Set Romance Books You Need For Summer

To explain a little about what this post will be about, I’m taking the intro I did for the last one: In every romance book you read there are tropes or archetypes. You can also see them in shows, movies, plays, etc. Romantic tropes are everywhere, and they are fabulous. I adore them and I always tend to find my favorite ones in romance books so I can enjoy them more. I decided to do a sort of Trope Tuesday piece where I will be talking about many tropes and recommend you all some of my favorites that fit.

What is a trope? Urban Dictionary explains it best I think: “Despite the erroneous definitions already published here, trope on the interwebs really refers to an often overused plot device. It can also be described as another variation on the same theme. TV shows, movies, comics, games, anime’, & books are full of tropes & many rabid fan-sites now name & track said tropes with a self-explanatory title for each one.” We can name a few: accidental pregnancy, best friends to lovers, sibling’s best friend, marriage of convenience, and so many more for sure. Your favorite couples? They probably got a trope too! It’s always so nice to realize or find out your favorite romance trope and keep searching for books with the same theme.

All my life I’ve lived near the sea. But when I went to college, the beach ended up being like five hours away from the city. It was harder and harder to get there when I was spending time studying. But I’m happy that every summer and winter I return home and it’s a done deal that I’m going to the beach to spend some time with my friends.

The beach, huh? It’s a good place to enjoy a book or two while everyone else goes to the sea to swim or build some castles on the sand. I’ve never really care about swimming because I get afraid something will touch my foot while I’m in the water *omg* so I’m better on the shore, sipping margaritas and reading a great romance novel.

Cherishing the Goddess by Lucy Eden

Newly released Cherishing the Goddess is a fun and sexy romance novel that takes place at a beach resort in Barbados. Alexander is there to buy a property, but his life changes when he meets Calypso Sterling there. All his life he has put his work and business before anything else but now, things might be changing a bit around here. This enemies to lovers romance will make your insides roar and you will want to pick up Lucy Eden’s backlist immediately.

Nine Years Away by Stella Torres

This cover is super pretty and I love the colors. I’ve been fan of Stella for a while and I loved her wedding-related romance, Save the Cake. I know Nine Years Away can be very beach-y read!

Nine Years Away tells the story of Kim del Rosario and Christian Mendiola and how they meet again after nine years at a beach resort, in adjoining rooms. Spending time together at the same place will bring them closer and only time will tell us if this time things will work out for them.

Resort to Love by Priscilla Oliveras

This series are standalone books written by different authors and the third in the series is Priscilla’s. They all feature this best friends that met years ago at Paradise Key and have kept in touch since then. Sadly they all return because of Lily’s funeral. Each book will feature a romance story for each character, and Resort to Love is about Sofía Vargas.

Her summers while growing up where spent working at the Holiday resort with her aunt and uncle. It was there she met Nathaniel, the owners’ son. The two had something going on, secretly, but she ended it when she found out he was engaged to someone else. Now she has returned to get that resort for herself and she’s ready to work it out. But the rival bidder? It’s Nathaniel! Stolen kisses, re-creations of first dates, and more await you in this lovely and great romance novel.
