[Note from Frolic: We’re so excited to welcome author Tessa Dare to the site today. She’s talking about her cover update. Take it away, Tessa!]
I don’t know about you, but a new look can do wonders for my mood. Whether it’s a cute new jacket or a fresh coat of paint in the kitchen, there’s no doubt that a trying on new look can be a pick-me-up. Essentials never change, but there’s something energizing about new throw pillows or a bold shade of lipstick. Why should books be any different? Don’t they deserve the occasional makeover, too?
That’s why I was so excited that Avon decided to update the digital edition of Romancing the Duke with this adorable, fresh cover. Contemporary romantic comedies are enjoying resurgence, attracting new readers to the romance genre with fun, lighthearted covers. The historical romance subgenre offers lots of rom-coms, too! It’s a truth universally acknowledged that beginning with Jane Austen and continuing through today, romances set in Regency England bring all the wit and swoons a reader could desire.
The next time you’re looking for a fresh element in your life, consider picking up a new book along with those new shoes. If you’re up for snappy banter, sizzling chemistry, and the inevitable surrender to love, check out Romancing the Duke, or another of the many Regency rom-coms available today. Whether the covers feature a clinch, a ball gown—or, in this case, an adorable illustrated couple with a Lizzy/Darcy vibe and Big Duke Energy—you might find the perfect fit.

Care to back that up? The reason Mia Vincy's A Wicked Kind of Husband got such a rapturous reception, is because there is a distinct lack of hilarious HR romcoms. Tessa Dare, my favourite romance author, has written only one, and this isn't it (The Wallflower Wager), being mildly amusing at best.
