Perfect Pairings: Books and Coffees // Frolic Podcast of the Week: First Cup of Coffee with Jeffe Kennedy

[Note from Frolic: We are so excited to bring you this new series: Frolic Podcast of the Week! Each week, we’ll ask one of our great podcasters to share a bit about themselves. Up next, we have Jeffe from First Cup of Coffee with Jeffe Kennedy! She’s sharing some perfect book and coffee pairings. Take it away!]

We all know what goes with curling up with good book, right? Especially at this time of year. That’s right – a hot drink is a must have! Now, I know we all have our favorites. But in honor of my podcast, First Cup of Coffee with Jeffe Kennedy – where I chat about books, writing, and reading over my first cup of coffee of the day – I’m suggesting some special coffee drinks to go with my own books.

For my brand-new release, Under Winter Sky, I’m suggesting a seasonal coffee treat to go along with this delicious collection of romantic fantasy novellas set in the midwinter holidays of our present world, the Victorian past, and alternate worlds! To go with the kiss of snowflakes and the passion of a moonlit kiss, indulge in a peppermint mocha latte. And if you add in a bit of Kahlua or creme de menthe, that makes it all the sweeter and more decadent.

Not quite ready for a holiday read – or maybe you’re dreaming of tropical landscapes! The long nights ahead are perfect for sinking into my Forgotten Empires trilogy, beginning with The Orchid Throne. Taking place in a lush paradise blooming with exotic flowers, this romantic fantasy read calls for a chestnut praline crème latte. Savor it with a sugary pastry and dream of gorgeous gowns and handsome warriors.

If you prefer a contemporary romance and like all things Christmas, then I have two choices for you. For some seriously kinky Caribbean vacay fun, check out Five Golden Rings. (Hint: the rings do not go on her fingers!) Or, if you want something little less hot, but still steamy, Since Last Christmas might be for you. Either way, I suggest a lovely fragrant and rich espresso, with a dollop of liqueur – a little or a lot is totally up to you!

If you want to listen to my podcast, here’s recent one about author interviews and some writing advice. Or another good place to start is this popular one about Kresley Cole and how authors are real human beings, too.
