Six Romance Novels to Read to Kick Off the New Year by Teri Wilson

[Note from Frolic: We’re so excited to welcome author Teri Wilson back to the site today. She’s sharing six great novels that will help you ring in the new year! Take it away, Teri!]

As much as we’re all looking forward to 2021 (can I get an amen?), this New Year’s Eve will probably be a little quieter than most. No worries, though. We’ve got a list of New Year’s-themed romance novels that are guaranteed to get you from 2020 to 2021 with a gigantic smile on your face. I’m not saying I’ll be ringing in the New Year beneath a weighted blanket with a cute dog in my lap, a glass of champagne in one hand and one of these books in the other hand, but I’m not not saying that either.

*wink face*

This Time Next Year by Sophie Cousens

New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are huge parts of the premise of this charming book. Minnie Cooper and Quinn Hamilton are born just seconds apart on January 1, 1990, with Quinn being London’s first new baby of the new decade and Minnie being the unlucky runner-up.    Fast forward thirty years later when Minnie meets Quinn on New Year’s Day, their mutual birthday, and it seems as if Quinn leads the perfect, charmed life while Minnie is still struggling to get by. What neither of them realize is that their lives have been intertwined all along, which the reader discovers in a series of flashbacks from various New Year’s Eves. This is the absolute perfect read to kick off a new year!

A Midnight Kiss to Seal the Deal by Sophie Pembroke

A pretend relationship and a magical New Year’s Eve make this new Harlequin Romance from Sophie Pembroke a great choice for a cuddly NYE at home. Pairs well with a glass of bubbly.

Same Time, Next Year by Debbie Macomber

This classic read from Debbie Macomber starts when James and Summer, both reeling from recent break-ups, meet on New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas. They agree to meet again, one year later, in what may be the most romantic New Year’s date of all time.

Dance All Night: A Dance Off Holiday Novella by Alexis Daria

This novella in Alexis Daria’s fabulous, RITA-winning Dance Off series starts and ends on New Year’s Eve, so you can binge it all in one night while you’re sipping champagne and waiting for the clock to strike midnight.

The Italian Billionaire’s New Bride by Scarlet Wilson

Snowed in with a yummy Italian billionaire on New Year’s Eve…need I say more?

Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding

This is the classic New Year’s read! From the painfully awkward New Year’s Day party at Bridget’s parents’ house to the list of daunting resolutions, we completely get Bridget. And the ending a year later is total perfection.
