Perfect Pairings

Perfect Pairings: Desserts and Romance Tropes!

Stressed spelled backwards is desserts, and I know that one should never turned to desserts when they are stressed it’s just in our human nature to do just that! So why not curl up with a new romance book or even if you are feeling adventurous a new romance trope! Pair it with the perfect dessert and find out why desserts and romance go hand in hand!

I Just Had My Heart Broken and I’ll Never Love Again: Oreo Fudge Brownies

Nothing says break up cures like chocolate, brownies to be specific. Okay maybe anything and everything that is chocolate is fair game when you are mending broken heart. The Oreo Fudge Brownies combine both brownies and our favorite midnight snack … Oreos. Making these are not only a breeze but you can decide to either share them with your friends or eat them all by yourself – we aren’t judging because we’ve been there done that at least once! So, while your curled up with your pan of brownies focus on someone else’s heartache. I’m not saying that it’ll cure your own, but maybe you can find something within the pages that makes your own heart mend and feel better. If not at least you have the brownies!

Book Rec: Where my Heart Breaks by Ivy Sinclair

Perfect coming of age story, two people who are judged for their past mistakes, oh and a romantic history lesson on town made famous by a novel. HECK. YES! Trust, unlikely friendship and a book all things that make us go all ooey gooey just like the brownies!

Enemies to Lovers: Chocolate Raspberry Mousse Cake

Sweet, soft, tarty, chocolate and something little … different. Wait, am I describing the cake or the Enemies to Lovers trope? Both, always both! With this cake, you get many layers. Instead of the safe strawberries and chocolate, try something that has a little tartness to it, just like enemies to lovers can be tart to one another!

Book Rec: Break by Cassia Leo

This book has a little bit of everything, just like the many layers of that raspberry cake!

Best Friend’s Brother: White Chocolate Macadamia Raspberry Crazy Shake

Crazy milkshakes have taken over Instagram the past few years, and why not? They’re sweet, delicious and should really be off limits! Share with friend, or enjoy by yourself while you contemplate why having a crush on your older sibling’s best friend would be sweet, and off limits!

Book Rec: The Billionaire’s Forbidden Little Sister by Max Monroe

They thought they were strangers, but nope! Turns out she’s his best friend’s very hot, very off-limits little sister! Will this be the best kept secret, or will this match go up in flames? Pair this book with a sinfully delicious milkshake and you can’t go wrong!

Workplace Romance: Red Velvet Cheesecake Cupcakes

These are perfect for any workplace romance trope because you can casually make them, bring them into work (a win for everyone) and you can bribe your co-worker into doing whatever it is you have planned! Just be careful when it comes to pacts because like these cupcakes you might just fall head over heels in love!

Book Rec: The Knock Up Plan by Lauren Blakely

What could be a better workplace romance than asking your fellow co-worker to well knock you up? If this is your plan (in real life) then obviously sway them with red velvet cheesecake cupcakes and you just might get your cake and eat it, to0!

Bad Boy and Girl Next Door: Cherry Pie Envelopes

Cherry Pie… well I feel like I don’t really need to explain why this is the perfect desert pairing for Girl Next Door falls for Bad Boy. I will tell you that I picked this desert because it’s not just normal pie, it’s a cute little pie in a pastry envelope, which takes a little more time to make and like our male MC will take patience to get a handle on, but once you get to the good stuff, it’s going to be oh so worth it!

Book Rec: Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas

Pen pals for seven years and forming an friendship you can only have when you don’t know what the other one looks like? They were perfect for each other until they met… if that doesn’t sound like the best story to read over cherry pie, then I don’t know what is!

Which dessert would you pair with your favorite book? Let us know in the comments!
