As we close out November and look towards the beauty and wonder of December, let’s take one last look back at the plethora of books that graced our eyeballs this month. I always love seeing the books folks were grateful enough for to take time out to read during the craziness that kicks off the holiday season. We have some fun ones listed here. The third book in Krahn’s Sin and Sensibility series gives us the story of Sarah Bumgarten, the youngest of for spirited American sisters trying to avoid her mother’s matchmaking attempts during British society’s latest season. I heartbreaking embarrassment sends Sarah to the countryside to escape the judgmental society eyes and gossip. Living at her brother-in-law’s neglected estate, Sarah finally finds peace and quiet with the townsfolk and animals. Then along comes trouble!
Mysterious Arthur arrives in a tizzy of action including tavern brawls, attacking dogs and a sneak attack gun battle. Since Sarah is the closest thing to a doctor in town, Arthur and his gunshot wound are taken to her for treatment and care. Sparks fly and the mystery of long lost and presumed dead Duke of Meridian are soon uncovered.
Anyone But Duke is a whirlwind tale of intrigue and unexpected love. Sarah and Arthur bring equal amounts of relationship baggage to the table and both have trust issues to sort out before they can finally surrender to the chemistry humming between them. Sarah is a brilliant heroine, unafraid to confront each and every troubling stumble of her journey and Arthur is a steadfast and loyal hero even when forced to don a shirt held together by curtain tassels! Krahn gives us equal parts sly humor and strength in the face of deceit and danger. Such a fun read, I highly recommend it for all romance lovers, not just historical fans!
This enemies to lovers romance was unputdownable.
Byron is an arrogant, dominant, dirty talking real estate developer, and Olivia is stubborn, environmentally conscience lawyer.
Despite being on opposite sides of a lawsuit, they have instant chemistry. They’re both tough, yet vulnerable. They can fight it out in their jobs, but can’t resist each other in the bedroom.
In Olivia’s quest to become a single mother without a partner and Byron’s interest in helping her added a complex layer to an already interesting story.
Not only did the main characters endear themselves to me, but I fell in love with the secondary characters, as well.
Iron Crowne is a dual POV standalone in a new series centered around the Crowne siblings.
In the ending of her The Cruel Prince series, Holly Black proves she’s the queen of the fairie world. Stay tuned for romance, intrigue, and surprises, especially when it comes to mortal Jude and fairie wicked character, Cardan. Definitely my favorite read of the year!
This book can also be found under the title Dear Santa. If you’re a fan of the Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks romantic comedy You’ve Got Mail and small town romance, this is a must read. It’s a wonderful story full of family tradition and history and a glimpse into what it’s like being the only shop in town which sells something specific and now has a big chain move in selling the same product but for cheaper. Tie in the romance and I couldn’t put it down!
When I picked up My Time Among the Whites it was after hearing about the horrific news events of the burning of her last book Make Your Home Among Strangers by college students in Georgia Southern University. My Time Among the Whites is compilation of essays from a Cuban-American author who describes her experiences of what it means to be Cuban-American in Miami and rural places such as a rodeo in Nebraska. Through her essays she perfectly depicts the divided and misunderstood society we live in. I read My Time Among the Whites in one sitting and her book provoked me to think deeply about the society we live in today and how it has affected me growing up as a Cuban-American woman in Miami. Her stories about being white passing and the illusion of the American dream made me feel less alone in the uncertain world we live in today.
This cowboy romance is knee-slapping, enemies to yee-haw loving, Annie get your pickup truck into high-gear sexy good. It’s okay if that sentence makes no sense. The book makes way more sense.

Great article about Iron Crowne. I loved the book as well, and highly reccomend reading it.
