[Note from Frolic: We’re so excited to welcome author Laura Lee to the site today. She’s talking all things friends to lovers. Take it away, Laura!]

My husband and I were close friends before we became a couple, so it probably comes as no surprise, friends-to-lovers is one of my favorite romance tropes. There’s just something about watching a couple’s relationship evolve from friendship into so much more. I’ve read countless books with this trope over the years, from ridiculous romantic comedies all the way over to gut-wrenching angst, but there are a few that have really stuck with me.

Beautiful Player by Christina Lauren

Hanna Bergstrom is determined to find a better work-life balance without being socially awkward in the process. Who better to help her than unapologetic playboy Will Sumner? As a successful venture capitalist, Will takes risks for a living, but he’s skeptical he’s the right person for the job. That is until one wild night between them teaches him that maybe he’s not so happy being an eternal bachelor after all. Now, it’s up to Will to prove to Hanna that he’s the only man she’ll ever need.

Broken Knight by LJ Shen

Luna Rexroth is everyone’s favorite wallflower…at least on the surface. But underneath her meek, tomboy persona, she’s a girl who knows exactly what she wants: her lifelong best friend, Knight Cole. Knight is your typical All-American football god, but he, too, harbors secrets. When life throws them a curveball, they learn that sometimes, the greatest love stories flourish in tragedy.

Love and Lists by Tara Sivec

Gavin Ellis knows a thing or two about humiliation—how could he not growing up with parents who have an uncanny ability to embarrass him at all costs? But he had no idea what was in store when he decided to make a list on how to make Charlotte—the girl he’s been secretly in love with for years—finally notice him. A series of hilarious mishaps ensue in a story that will have you laughing so hard, you’ll cry. If you’re a fan of Tara Sivec’s Chocolate Lovers series, you don’t want to miss this next generation spin-off.

The One for Me by Corinne Michaels

Sean and Devney have been best friends since they were six years old. Even while he was on the road playing professional baseball, she was his home. When a family obligation forces him to return to their small town, he becomes desperate after learning Devney’s about to spend her life with the wrong man. After one perfect kiss, everything between them changes. Now, he has six months to convince her to leave with him, but when tragedy strikes, he knows he might have to let her go, despite the fact that she’s the only one for him.

About the Author:

Laura Lee is the USA Today bestselling author of steamy and sometimes ridiculously funny romance.

She won her first writing contest at the ripe old age of nine, earning a trip to the state capital to showcase her manuscript. Thankfully for her, those early works will never see the light of day again!

Laura lives in the Pacific Northwest with her wonderful husband, two beautiful children, and three of the most poorly behaved cats in existence. She likes her fruit smoothies filled with rum, her cupboards stocked with Cadbury’s chocolate, and her music turned up loud. When she’s not writing or watching HGTV, she’s reading anything she can get her hands on. She’s a sucker for spicy romances, especially those that make her laugh.

Deal Breakers by Laura Lee!

What happens when your best friend accidentally becomes your baby daddy?  Find out in this hot and hilarious second chance romance from USA Today bestselling author, Laura Lee.

“I’M A VIRGIN AND YOU NEED TO RELIEVE ME OF THAT.”

What respectable guy could say no to that? Yeah, she was my best friend. But she was also the hottest chick I’d ever known. I thought it would be simple. I thought we’d have a good time, then pretend like it never happened.

It turns out, I was an idiot.

Now, she wants nothing to do with me, but I’m determined. I’ve spent the last five years without her and I refuse to waste another day. I have a solid plan. All of my figurative ducks are in a row. I’m going balls to the wall, and I’m not stopping until I win back the only girl I’ve ever loved.

Too bad for me, Devyn Summers was sitting on a secret that nothing could’ve prepared me for.
