LGBT and especially M/M Romance has been a favorite genre of mine ever since I discovered Romance. There was just something about these books that were fresh and realistic that I hadn’t encountered before. The books that I initially read became the avenue to an even greater pasture of amazing books. So I thought that today I could share my favorite and the most compelling couples in some of my first M/M romances. Shall we get started?

Keeping Promise Rock by Amy Lane

Amy Lane is a household name in the LGBT romance community and this is one of her favorite series amongst her fans. It’s the first book in the Promise series, which features Carrick and Deacon, two childhood friends who discover their feelings for one another later on in life. It’s an emotional read and one that I highly recommend to readers interested in reading LGBT Romance for the first time. It’s sweet but sensual while testing the bonds of their trust. I’m sure that after reading this book you can agree that Lane’s writing is emotional and powerful.

Strawberries for Dessert by Marie Sexton

Marie Sexton is another author who is highly loved within the community and this particular book is actually part of a larger series called the Coda Books. But don’t worry if you haven’t read the other books in the series because Jon and Cole’s romance will absolutely sweep you away. As the fan-favorite of the series, Sexton evokes emotion in every word of this book. The romance is a slow burn, which for me was something integral to the plot and the romance. With a pinch of humor and a heady dose of angst, Jon and Cole’s story is a must-read.

Faith & Fidelity by Tere Michaels

Faith & Fidelity by Tere Michaels is the first book in the Faith, Love & Devotion series. It follows Matt and Evan, two guys who have never had an interest in men before, but are realizing that things change and it’s entirely possible to fall for anyone. In this case, Matt and Evan display their inner conflicts throughout the book and Michaels does a fantastic job of showcasing these mixed emotions. It has a wonderful backstory along with some great secondary characters as well, creating a well-rounded read that will no doubt make you fall in love.

Tigers and Devils  by Sean Kennedy

This is another oldie but a goodie, especially if you’re in the mood for something a little more lighthearted. I haven’t heard much about Sean Kennedy since I read this book but I remember really enjoying this book because of its humor and heart. Simon and Declan are a wonderful couple and I enjoyed reading how their loved bloomed. So if you want a couple that are low on angst but packed full of sweet these are your men.

Fatal Shadows by Josh Lanyon

Josh Lanyon is definitely one of my favorite M/M authors and the Adrien English series is a must-read. Combining suspense with a heady dose of mystery, this series will definitely sweep you off your feet. If you want a couple who are super engaging and fun, there’s never a dull moment with Adrien and Jake. Let me warn you though, once you start reading, you definitely won’t want to stop. I suggest having all the books in the series on hand before you dive in!

Cut & Run by Abigail Roux

Cut & Run by Abigail Roux is considered to be the most popular and classic of all Romantic Suspense M/M, Abigail Roux has created two characters that cause such intense reactions in readers. If you’re in the mood for some humor and heartbreak, then this is definitely a series for you. Zane and Ty have amazing chemistry and will likely because a top favorite and ones that you will remember for some time.

Zero at the Bone by Jane Seville

Following the theme of suspenseful readers, Zero at the Bone by Jane Seville has an interesting premise and an even more captivating cast. Both the plot and the characters are very well developed, but I will say that this one is probably less steamy than some of the other books on this list. Nevertheless, I find the writing in this book to be both engaging and enthralling, making it easy for readers to jump right in!

So, those are some of my favorite M/M couples who got me addicted to the genre! The books vary in intensity and style but there is one commonality between them all and it’s that they are all very passionate, well-constructed love stories, with two amazing lead characters. If you are just dipping your toes into the genre or are already a bonafide reader, I hope you find something here to sink your teeth into and enjoy! Happy reading!
