If you’ve been on Netflix recently, chances are you’ve seen the trailer for the new show Locke and Key. It’s based on a series of graphic novels, and it’s going to be your new obsession. Whether mystery, romance, or horror is your jam, here are all of the reasons you’re going to love this show.

1. The Characters

The show centers around siblings Tyler, Bode and Kinsey. These three are utterly delightful, each in their own way. Tyler is fiercely protective of his siblings, but has struggles of his own, especially when it comes to teenage girls! Bode, the youngest, is most attune to the magic of the house, and always willing to explore the new things he discovers. This isn’t always a good thing for the characters, but it makes for some stunning visuals and downright creepy situations. Finally, Kinsey, their badass, adorable sister, stole our hearts from the beginning. She follows her heart and lives without fear.

2. The Mystery

There’s nothing like a good puzzle! This show is full of puzzles, from discovering what the mysterious keys do to what the bad guys want. We love watching these characters figure things out and guessing along the way.

3. The Magic

Haven’t you always wanted magical powers!? We sure have. The magic in this show is so varied and compelling that we can’t decide which power is the coolest. Do you know which key you would choose?

4. The Romance

Here at Frolic, you know that Romance is always our favorite! You’re in luck with this show. Kinsey and Tyler navigate more than just the mysterious house throughout the show, and their romances are downright fluffy and adorable.

5. The visuals!

We’re not exaggerating when we say that Locke and Key has some of the most impressive visuals we’ve seen lately! From the gorgeous cinematography to the digitally created worlds that the characters find themselves in, this show looks fantastic. We can’t wait to dive back into this series.

What are you waiting for? Settle in on the couch and turn on Locke and Key.
