‘Tis the season, Frolic readers! It’s time to think about the perfect gifts for friends, family and coworkers! Since many of you probably found your way here because you love books and love stories, I’ll bet you have some bookish besties out there on your shopping list!

Never fear, I have a variety of ideas to help with your perfect gift brainstorming!

For the Friend Who Always Enjoys A Good Cuppa Tea With Their Books: Novel Teas and an Engraved Spoon

It’s hard to explain why, but there’s a noticeable overlap between folks who devour books and folks who are always found sipping from a mug of tea. Perhaps it’s the coziness of both activities. Or maybe it has to do with the way tea-drinking is found in so many historical titles.

Whatever the reason, this set of literary-inspired teas and an engraved spoon that promotes their favorite things are sure to be appreciated!

And in these cold months, it’s almost like you’re giving the added gift of fancy coziness, too!

For the Trendy Friend: Book-Lover Lapel Pins from Floriana

Enamel pins are the trend that just keeps growing! I think it has a lot to do with the way they look super cute but also showcase different aspects of our identity. For example, my laptop bag currently sports enamel pins featuring a cat sitting on a book, Max Fischer from Rushmore and a cute flower design by Rifle Paper Co.

If your book-loving friend is all about the pin trend, you can’t go wrong with these Book-Lover pins from Floriana.

Personally, I love the design of the Little Women pin, but Floriana also carries pins that feature cool lady-centric titles like Anne of Green Gables and Pride and Prejudice.

For the Friend Who Loves Loaning Out Books: The Knock Knock Personal Library Kit

Maybe it’s the little kid in me who remembers sifting through the elementary school library card catalog, but I’m kind of obsessed with this gift set!

As I wrote in another article for Frolic this year, I’m the kind of reader who loves passing on favorite books to friends who I know will adore them. Personally, I am usually willing to do this even when there’s a high possibility that I will never see my book again. But for some of us, books are highly treasured possessions, and it’s hard to part with them.

This library system is cute as heck, brings retro book loaning habits back to our lives, and will hopefully give friends the incentive to actually return borrowed books!

For the Pop Culture Nerd: More Books!

Here at Frolic, we are all about the intersection of books and pop culture. So, yes, it may seem like a bit of a cheat to give book buddies more books. But if your book-loving bestie always seems to be knowledgeable about the latest Netflix series, hit movie, Broadway show or multi-platinum album then it makes perfect sense that you would give a gift that promotes the overlap in the books and pop culture Venn Diagram.

There are so many ways to go with this, but I recommend considering one of these popular YA titles that correspond to relevant 2018 pop culture.

Of course, The Hate U Give took the world by storm last year. But now it has also been turned into a feature film that hit theaters in the fall!

Dear Evan Hansen is the perfect book for the friend who is always belting out showtunes. The book corresponds perfectly with the hit musical of the same name.

And Dumplin’ and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before are popular YA titles that have been brought to the masses in the form of much-discussed Netflix movies this year!

For the Fragrance Fan: Paddywax Library Jane Austen Candle

I know, I know…the candle is often considered to be one of the top generic gifts. But hear me out!

First of all, this particular candle is themed around one of the Mothers of Modern Romance: Jane Austen.

Plus, it has sophisticated floral notes of Jasmine and Gardenia that are reminiscent of an English garden!

This candle isn’t meant for just anyone. But if your friend loves a good fragrance and digs a Happily Ever After, then it makes perfect sense that they would flip out over this Paddywax candle!

I hope that these have given you some great ideas for the Bookish Babes in your life! And hey, if you’re the most book-loving babe around, maybe this list has introduced you to some items that you and add to your personal wishlist when friends and family are stumped about what you’d most love!

Happy gifting, everyone!
