It’s almost the holiday season, and some of you might be wondering what series to gift or start! May I recommend the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas?

The series follows a female assassin and has more action and adventure than you can ever imagine.

In the first novel of the series, after serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.

Her opponents are men-thieves, assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king’s council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she’ll serve the kingdom for four years and then be granted her freedom. Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilarating. But she’s bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her … but it’s the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.

Then one of the other contestants turns up dead … quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

If this sounds intriguing, you might love to know that now the books are available in pocket sized…yes, tiny book form, from Bloomsbury Publishing. Thanks to them, I took the tiny books for a spin and below are the three reasons you should snag these cute little books for your bookish friend, or for yourself even, this holiday season.

#1 They fit in that cute clutch!

Ever been stuck at a boring holiday party? Well, never fear, for the Throne of Glass series minis are perfect to sneak into a party, even in your small clutch. I tested this by taking Assasins Blade out to an event I knew I’d have some downtime on, and got some serious “oohs” and “aahs” as soon as I popped open my clutch and took out my lil’ book.

#2 They’re the perfect stocking stuffer!

Yes, these books fit in a holiday stocking! Try stuffing the last book in the series, Kingdom of Ash, into a stocking and you will see that even the biggest tiniest book in the series fits comfortably inside your favorite stocking, making it the perfect holiday surprise!

#3 They’re the cutest for pictures!

Tried, tested and true, these books are the cutest in pictures! I held the whole series on the palm of my hand and even placed a fantasy POP figure by “Treat Yo Shelf” on top of the books, for the perfect Instagram picture! So what are you waiting for? You need these cute, readable, books in your stack, STAT!
