First Cup of Coffee – November 19, 2019: #PantsNaNoWriMo day 19: Pantsing DOES NOT mean no structure. I use a structure – and spreadsheets! – to chart my progress and predict the novel beats and eventual length. Today I talk about how this works, and when it doesn’t, and why THE FATE OF THE TALA will be 40K longer than I thought. Also why I’m so energized by this somewhat daunting discovery! Hint: it has to do with Tao.
First Cup of Coffee – November 20, 2019: #PantsNaNoWriMo day 20: Talking today about the business and money end of being a writer – and how your goals affect your priorities and decisions. First Cup of Coffee – November 21, 2019: #PantsNaNoWriMo day 21: In the trenches thoughts on being a pantser/gardener – and a reminder that dramatic beats and story structure are mileposts only, and not formula. A lot of story-structure advice comes from analyzing what someone else did intuitively.
First Cup of Coffee – November 22, 2019: #PantsNaNoWriMo day 22: Approaching the story like a tesseract: you don’t have to know the whole thing. Also setting goals and keeping them firmly in mind.
