No matter your beliefs about zodiac signs and horoscopes, there’s no denying that they’re a lot of fun to read! Keep reading to discover your horoscope, and the book I’ve paired with it!

Aries (March 21- April 19)

First off, Aries, I know it’s a new year but take a deep breath and slow it down – just a little. Think about the year ahead of you. If you haven’t already picked a word to focus on this year, I suggest Think, Understand, Consider and Expect. I know it’s sometimes hard to think what you’re going to do before you jump into something, but consider January a trial month. As for your love life, patience is key for not only this month but this year. If you are with someone already, try and consider what exactly about them or your relationship is testing it. If you are starting something, new patience is still key. Don’t jump into or out of something just because things aren’t going as fast as you’d like.

Book Recommendation: A Princess in Theory by Alyssa Cole
Taurus (April 20- May 20)

We know that you work hard, probably harder then anyone else, and keep it up! But a little word of wisdom: if what you are doing isn’t making you feel like the badass that you are, perhaps you need to start looking for a different approach or even a little change. Remember that you need to take care of yourself at the end of the day, so try a new hobby to unwind. I know you don’t like change, so introducing small changes to your life like cooking something new once a week won’t just help with that, you’ll also be doing something you enjoy! Now for your love life, have the person you are with come and cook with you. You can learn a lot from a person when you are cooking together! Introduce one more small change and let them pick a recipe to cook – once in a while that is!

Book Recommendation: Delicious! A Novel by Ruth Reichl
Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Oh Gemini, our favorite twin personality person. Take a deep breath and count to ten. Last year might have ended in a mess, and sure that cluster might have carried over into this year but remember who you are and what your strengths are. You are kind, curious and most importantly, adaptable. Don’t let the indecisiveness in you take hold of both sides of who you are. You know that you don’t always show your other side to everyone, and that’s okay, but use that mysterious side to your advantage. It’ll keep everyone on their toes and know not to take advantage of your kindness. Communication is key when it comes to your love life, remember that your partner is there for you. Sharing is caring, and sharing what’s going through your head once in a while will help open up that side that they might not get to see all the time. Communication is also key if you are starting something new or looking, staying safe is fine but don’t distance yourself and hide behind that comfort.

Book Recommendation: Complicated by Kristen Ashley
Cancer (June 21-July 22)

I think you need to start asking yourself some very personal questions this month, starting with: what is making you insecure and moody? Take it day by day, Cancer, writing things down and finding the source is an excellent way to find what the weak spot in your life is. When you find it, and you will, figure out how to fix it so you can start feeling like yourself again! Your friends and family aren’t saying anything because they respect you, but they’ll be more than happy to help with anything you need! As for your love life, this month is all about you darling, take care of yourself with or without a partner (if you know what I mean). If you’re with someone, don’t wait until Valentines Day to try something new and exciting. Take charge and, heck, get a little … erotic.

Book Recommendation: Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey
Leo (July 23-August 22)

There is a reason why your zodiac sign is a lion: you’re warm-hearted, love life, and are a natural born leader. But, like any cat, you can be stubborn, self-centered, and sometimes lazy. Now I’m not saying that you can’t be lazy once in while because we all are, but maybe sometimes you drag your feet on certain things (like adult things). Take this month and work through that feeling for dread and just do it. Now being a natural born leader, you may or may not have already taken that role in a relationship but remember that there are two people in a relationship. Instead of you planning or organizing the night, let your partner be the leader for the night. yYu never know what you’ll discover. For you Leos not in a relationship don’t worry, when meeting new people, don’t forget to be true to yourself but remember how important intimacy is when starting something new or just having fun!

Book Recommendation: Emma by Jane Austen
Virgo (August 23-September 22)

All work no and no play makes the Virgo stressed. Now that the holidays are over, be sure to give yourself a little break. Do something that can make you feel less stressed, and we know that probably means organizing something. Take the time and don’t rush through the self-care you need and deserve. I’m not going to tell you to worry because that’ll make you stress more, but just set aside a few minutes to yourself every day to decompress. You are a practical partner when it comes to love, but sometimes you should let your heart tell you what to do, not your brain. We always say men think with their … well you know, so once in a while don’t be afraid to think with your female parts!

Book Recommendations: Neat: A Small Town Romance by Kandi Steiner
Libra (September 23-October 22)

You are gentle soul who loves putting others in the spotlight and waving off your own accomplishments. Well, Libra, this is your month to step into that light and show the world just how bright you can shine! You are your own person who has opinions, but instead of letting others take the credit for your work, step up, raise your hand and say “hey, I’m here, I did this!” Now, for your love life, your love for socializing is amazing, but remember to keep your empathy in check when meeting new people. This also works when you are in relationship, I know you can’t simply turn your empathy off (we’ve all tried) but remember it’s okay to shift the light onto your needs in the relationship.

Book Recommendation: The Wallflower Wager by Tessa Dare
Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

You may already have the motto “Never Mix Business with Friendship.” But we all need friends, especially in the workplace. Whether you work inside or outside of the home friends are important. Find someone who has shared interest with you, even the smallest things can blossom into something wonderful, even if you only see that person for a few hours a week. Knowing that you have someone that you can talk to about the smallest thing (like maybe your love for a T.V show or book?) can help you decompress when you need it the most! Now Scorpio, next month is the month of love, this is a perfect time to remind yourself that jealousy isn’t pretty. This is a great time to either take the next step in your relationship or make the first move, just don’t get discouraged!

Book Recommendation: The Shark And I by Cara Lockwood
Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

I have a feeling that January might be one of your favorite months. You like change and January is full of changes and new things. #NEWYEARNEWME was meant for you! This is a great month to make that change you’ve been thinking about for a while: new hair, new nails, new career? Just remember that before you go and make any life changing commitments you should always have a few back up plans in your pocket. As for your love life, if this is one of those changes you’ve been sitting on for a while, listen to your heart and your head, make a list or talk to a friend (and listen to what they have to say). You are vibrant and exciting and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!

Book Recommendation:  To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
Capricorn (December 22-January 19)

Honesty is the best policy Capricorn for work, home and for yourself. If you can’t be honest with yourself, this is going to be a tough year. If there were things that built up inside that followed you into this new year, now is the perfect time to sit down and have a good look at what those things are and get them sorted out. You are a reasonable, practical person, so use that brilliant brain of yours! You are a good friend, remember that when starting a new relationship or go back to the start and be a good friend. You may be surprised to find how much your partner missed “friend “you.

Book Recommendation: The Lost Heiress By Roseanna M. White
Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

This is a good year to put your humanitarian side to use and volunteer. Even a few hours once a week will not just make a difference if your community, but it’ll put something at rest in your soul. You are a fantastic problem solver, and what better way to put that to use than in your community? You are also a sensitive person, but don’t let the feeling of vulnerability close you off to a new friendship, relationship or even an existing relationship. Being vulnerable isn’t a bad thing and don’t let the people or person in your love life use that against you, let them see who you really are and you’ll win them over with just being you!

Book Recommendation: Someone to Love by Mary Balogh
Pisces (February 19-March 20)

I want you to write down five things that you’re good at, five things you like about yourself and five things you want to do this year. I know it’ll probably take an hour or two to write down five things you like about yourself because you don’t really focus on yourself, you focus on others. Well, Pisces, those five things you write down that you like about yourself will help you accomplish what you want to do this year. You are full of compassion and unconditional love but remember to keep your feet on the ground when starting something new. If you’re in a relationship I suggest having fun and remember why you with them.
